I was looking forward to the show. Unfortunately, Tina's insipid comments really ruined it for me....

It was a great segment. It's too bad if some people don't get it, but we DO get remarks about Hillary being 'periodically down,' or Obama's aggressive body language during debates, or why a lot of cable news channels outright favor Obama. So yeah, I know what that's about, and I appreciate Tina and Amy and their rabble rousing. Way to go!

SNL Tina Great Stuff. SNL is BACK

Comedy/Jester the antidote to the philsopher's bullshit. As a Latino male I have great respect for strong women like Hilary and Tina and all women that speak up and stand up for themselves and one another.

I love Tina Fey. But this was typical affluent white feminism. Totally incapable of understanding why rich white feminists don't speak for the interests of all women. Sorry Tina, on this one you are dead wrong.

It's about time someone spoke the right words. Everyone's drinking the obama koolaid they will wake up when its too late and the republican party tears him apart on one year being a senator and no record of doing anything but voting present 167 times instead of yes or no on a bill. just what I need another learn the job as you go in the White House Great Job Tina

Boo Tina,

I used to have more respect for you.

How could a smart woman like you be fooled by a pro-war (Iraq AND Iran), pro-corpritocracy, pro-NAFTA divisive criminal who used to be on the board of directors at Wallmart, was the leader of a young Republican group in college and has had more of her closest personnel indicted for crimes (Whitewater) not to mention how she and Bill have had more people close to them suddenly die under mysterious circumstances than any other politician in the last 3 decades (47 total). All Hellary supporters are sheep being led blindly down the path of perpetual war and global poverty.

With all the bashing Hillary gets from the media, it is down right brave of SNL to take the reverse (and sensible) stance. Kudos to them and especially Tina. Now, will this message gets across to those who need it most? Highly doubtful. Welcome to the dumbing down of America.

Brava for Tina Fey and the writers of SNL.
As a white MALE who supports Hillary it was refreshing to see that here are intelligent people who are NOT being bamboozzled by the Illinois Flash and have the sense to see the emptiness of Obamamania.

SNL was the best and I just love Tina Fey, she made my week. I am so tired of all these Obama wannabe and if he gets elected, the US will be in worse trouble that we are right now. Women should stick together, just like men, and be proud of Hillary. Because of her generation, my girls have so many opportunities and I thank women who has paved the way from all of us. I am ashamed of women who will now vote for Hillary because she is a woman. They will rather vote for a NOBama and a true leader.

Whatever Fey's actual politics, I think many of the commenters here are missing some of her key points with that bit.

I don't think it was about rallying around Hillary or bashing Obama so much as using a MOCK-news show (Weekend Update) to demonstrate the ridiculousness of the slant in present-day media that so fervently supports Obama.

While what might have pulled the point further and benefited her commentary (and EVERYONE'S frankly) would be if someone/somehow made clear the ridiculousness of the constructed 'race v. gender' politics designed around Obama and Hillary by say... bringing a cast member onstage during Weekend Update that was a Woman of Color (perhaps Black) and faux-declaring the presidency.

I think Fey's main point was to fervently and clearly make people upset with her commentary by making it PLAIN how slanted the media is leaning toward Obama in a way that they are WILLING to, instead of focusing on either candidate's records, cite their physical attributes and envoke age-old oppressions (racism and sexism) to sell a paper/news show and in the current situation REPEATEDLY degrade Clinton in gendered, sexist manners...

so much so, that Obama has never had to play dirty. He could let everybody else do it, watch it happen, come out once or twice and say 'hey guys, that's not cool' and then he looks like 'the good guy' in the situation. I hope that people can see that and I HOPE HOPE HOPE that people can take a little bit of that away from Fey's piece.

Given all this, you might be interested in knowing that I am voting for Obama because I have more confidence in his willingness to seek collective action and requests from Americans and because hearing Hillary cite 'coercive diplomacy' as a means to achieve peace absolutely turned me off. Namely, because I am fiercely trying to pay attention to their records and I hope everyone else will too JUST LIKE TINA IS SAYING... DON'T DO IT CAUSE OPRAH SAYS SO... DO IT CAUSE YOU DID THE HOMEWORK.

(incidentally, the quotation from Hillary is in the CNN CA Democratic debate)

pardon... in that first large paragraph it should say 'faux-declaring her presidential candidacy' as if to CONFUSE the crap out of everyone who is so heavily invested in the 'Race v. Gender' conception of this election.

As a hardworking female working in a male-dominated industry, I have long admired both Hillary Clinton and Tina Fey and recognized the uphill battle they both face in their respective industries. I was THRILLED to see Tina's gutsy support of Hillary in Weekend Update. Really, I hope she knows how many women were really appreciative of her use of her unconventional pulpit.

It was a little suspect that in the show's opener, SNL chose to mock CNN for their Obamamania, when most people regard MSNBC as featuring the most egregious Hillary-hating / Barack worshiping commentators.

Thank god someone on TV finally said what we've all been thinking. The media has bias and love Obama. Thats a fact. Anyone who says different is drinking too much of the Obama Kool Aid. Wake Up People! They are feeding you Barack Obama and you are just like a little fat kid that just can't get enough!

Obama voted 'present' fewer than 130 times. That's out of more than 4000 votes cast. Give this one a rest Golden Girl.

Funny, I always thought Hillary's actions in the face of Bill's multiple infidelities (i.e., prior to the blue dress DNA, calling it all a right-wing conspiracy and her denials in regards to Bill's Gennifer Flowers affair)were the antithesis of a feminist. He humiliated her time and time again and she just stood their and defended him like an abused wife who refused to press charges. In my mind, she came across as the ultimate enabler. Which is the main reason why I could never vote for her...she's weak! Plus, she didn't pay her dues as a politician. She clamped on to Bill's political coattails and used that to pad her resume - as if voting for Hillary was the same thing as voting for Bill.

I love Tina Fey but we can't forget what her last name means. I don't think she was supporting Hillary anymore than the spoof on Barack and Hillary debating supported Obama. It is a comedy show but interestingly, Hillary never mentioned the Tina Fey video when complaining about the prejudiced press: this would be an excellent example of how balanced SNL is. I do have one correction for when she spoke about two intelligent people problems solving she couldn't have been speaking about bill AND Hillary. While Bill is intelligent Hillary, sadly is merely well educated. Tina Fey for president.
