Britain's Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton are set to be the subject of a TV documentary about their 'engagement'.

British channel ITV are so certain the 25-year-old prince - who has been dating Kate, 26, for four years - is set to pop the question after he completes his military service next year they have already finished filming a one-off special about the couple.

A source told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper: "In order to be ahead of the game ITV have already made a documentary to be aired immediately after Wills and Kate make an announcement.

"Historian Andrew Roberts has been brought in to discuss the historical significance of a future king marrying a 'commoner' for the first time since James II, and the editor of Tatler magazine discussing the society side of it.

"They spent the last month filming in Kate's home village of Buckleberry and outside her grandfather's old home in Southall, West London."

However, the filmmakers ran into trouble at Scotland's University of St. Andrew's, where William and Kate first met as students, after being told no cameras would be allowed in the grounds until an official engagement announcement had been made.

ITV are not the first company to make premature preparations for a royal engagement.

In 2006, high street chain Woolworths announced a range of commemorative gifts for William and Kate's engagement, including plates, mobile phones, mouse mats and sweets.

The retail chain looked like it was going to be left red-faced after the pair split in April last year, but there romance was rekindled just months later.

Kate Middleton is a total social climber who lazy and good-for-nothing. It's sad that Prince William is such a simpleton in that he goes for this sort of girl.

I think they should be left alone and stupid magazines and papers should stop writing made up stories. How people can say Kate is a social climber is beyond me, do these people actually now Kate? I doubt it, and how would they like comments made about them like that.

I must point out that Lady Diana was also a commoner. As an earl's daughter, she was not a peer or a royal, she bore only a courtesy title. As for Ms. Middleton, people who don't know her have no business accusing her of social climbing. She may have an unimpressive employment history (so did Diana), but she's looked and behaved with admirable dignity. The only person whose opinion of her matters is Prince William.

Falling out of clubs drunk and barely dressed is hardly dignified behaviour. Ms Middleton will make an even more sorry excuse for a princess than William is for a prince.

I have never seen a photo of Ms. Middleton falling out of a club 'drunk and barely dressed,' and I read the British papers regularly. Indeed, they have pointed out that she never looks drunk after clubbing (unlike her boyfriend) and have even complained that she dresses in a somewhat staid manner.

I read the English papers regularly and some European ones too and I have seen photos of Ms Middleton looking decidedly the worse for drink, in dresses barely long enough to warrant the word and the inevitable paprazzi shots of her underwear. There are also photographs of her on the internet that are not 'demure'.

I've also read a number of stories which comment negatively on her behaviour, one in particular referred to her 'falling to her knees' while flirting with a group of men at a nightclub. Not the behaviour I would expect from a future queen.

Well, Feral, the Internet is crammed with photographs of Middleton. Please direct me to one in which she looks falling-down drunk and is 'barely dressed'. I might mention that recently, on another site, someone tried to claim that she'd been photographed with her underwear showing, but the pictures in question didn't include so much as a glimpse of her knickers. Frankly, I have a far more jaundiced opinion of Prince William. His mother was a mess, his father is a twit (albeit a naive, well-meaning one who can't help the fact that he was raised according to an Edwardian conception of his role), and he is boring beyond belief -- especially insofar as his own three-sheets-to-the-wind appearances in public are concerned.

Even though I don't know Kate, I don't get that some papers call her the 'middle class rose'. Her charactor is not classy nor beautiful. I don't see a nice middle class lady would waste her life, jets around the world and party all night long. She did nothing for the people or the country. She doesn't deserve to be a queen.

'Thanks God! just one more year to wait and to pretend that we don't need Royal's fortunes' said Kate, her mom and family with big cuckles when they see their own faces on the mirror.

Carly Massey-Birch, Prince William's first girlfriend at University, was absolutely stunning and much more beautiful than Kate. She has a much more natural look and sweet look about her. She should be commended for maintaining such a low profile for sooo long! Kate on the other hand, comes off as rather pretentious -- shopping, clubbing, vacationing, seeking attention from the media, etc, etc! Kate is revolting and absolutely irritating!

she is not only irritating, she's narrow-minded.how could she probably assume she can outsmart a prince? their long plan w/ her mama carol to become a princess by hook -or-by crook remains a crook & will never come come true.it's just a matter of time she will tell the truth, infact, their relationship is on rocks again, even w/out telling.she remains so silent for years but her silence now breaks evry eardrum, sensing her prince leaves her indifenitely, i think, this is the only way to tell kate she must go away, awyay from his sight. her attending to another race w/ piranhas is another way to maneuver the press to have something to talk about her,she didn't know she irritated the royal familynor the people of UK everytime she attended such activities because she brings w/ her the prince shadow .she actually walks w/ his shadow in order to be recognized. Not a princess material indeed!!

She should work for charity instead of hanging out at the club. Look at princess Diana. All she did was going to the club and has fun with friends and just wait for until prince william to pop the question. She does not derserve it she should go look for a job instead of fooling around.

Who are we to criticize? They are both young, and they deserve to have a good time every now and then, just like everyone else. Otherwise why complain that the royals are so out of touch, when we make them stay 'out of touch'. Leave them alone, and just let them be happy. It could be alot worse, He could marry someone because it's 'proper', and then break her heart by cavorting with his mistress, who he'd rather be with anyway. Why make him repeat what happened with his parents by not letting him and her just be themselves.

Why is everyone so malevolent and harsh towards Kate?? She has done NOTHING wrong!! How about minding your own business and taking control of your own lives??? What Prince William and Kate do, does not concern you!

Come on... we all grown-ups here!!
