Montel Williams' Show goes dark after 17 years

12/11/2007 - Montel Williams and wife - "I Am Legend" New York Premiere - Arrivals - The Wamu Theater At Madison Square Garden - Manhattan, NY, USA © Janet Mayer / PR PhotosAfter 17 years, The Montel Williams Show has been a platform for the socially conscious Williams to talk people through tragedy and stressful situations.CBS Television Distribution, which syndicates the talk show, announced on Wednesday that while it will cease making new episodes of the program, it will continue to provide stations with a full year's worth of ''Best of Montel'' broadcasts. The Associated Press quoted Williams as saying, ''I can't say thank you enough to those who've welcomed me into their homes for the past 17 years. It has been both an honor and a joy.''Williams, 51, is a decorated military man who launched his show in 1991. He won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host in 1996.
