Season seven of American Idol is promising to shape up as the franchise's most bizarre year, if you ask judge Simon Cowell.
Cowell spoke to Exra about season seven’s hopefuls.
“I think you’re going to find this year as bizarre as any year we’ve ever had,” Cowell reveals.
The eye-candy that producers have plucked from all regions of the United States promises a feast of jaw-dropping awfulness.
Lack of talent doesn’t stop these contestants, and Cowell never minces his words:
“People come onto the show who are obviously terrible…but they’re arguing more with me this year like I’m the crazy one.”
When asked to reveal how harsh he has been, Cowell responds: “Oh, no. I mean I haven't been drowning kittens for ten years. I've just been telling a few people who are useless singers.”
And what of the scuttlebutt that Paula Abdul will be performing at this year’s Superbowl?
“I think it would be fantastic. Let's hope for another wardrobe malfunction.”
