Is Glenn Beck on drugs? Video

By Stone Martindale Jan 5, 2008, 20:32 GMT

A rambling and obviously medicated Glenn Beck has filmed a monologue on the apparently botched surgery he had and posted it on YouTube.

Beck has a nationally-syndicated radio show, The Glenn Beck Program, which airs on over 260 radio stations through Premiere Radio Networks, and his self-titled television show debuted in May 2006 on CNN Headline News.

Beck goes on and on, calling his care at a yet-to-be-named hospital "phenomenal, phenomenally bad."

Beck blathers, "I have stories that will melt your brain."

The hospital in question also apparently takes care of, says Beck, "the President of GE".

Beck is off the air this week and back on Monday. The YouTube ramble is a clever tease for his return.

He also posted a note on his website that ends, "Join me [Monday] for my NEW PERSPECTIVE ON LIFE, OUR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM AND BLOOD SHOOTING FROM PLACES BLOOD SHOULD NOT SHOOT OUT OF."

Stone,

Come on. Really? Did you watch the video? Yes, he's on drugs! He said he was prescribed nearly everything at the hospital, and he had urges wanting to kill himself. This isn't a secret.

If one were to spend a morning listening to Glenn's show, one could pick up on his sense of humor, and his vivid and over-accentuated anecdotes - it's just how he tells a story. I don't know Glenn personally, but he seems like a straightforward guy. Good for him promoting his show! Good for him making as far as he has. Good for you for writing an article and feeding the marketing machine! Heck, I didn't mind writing a comment because personally, I like the guy. He's one of the good things going on in this country. He may not represent a majority. But he has conviction and believes in something, which makes him an easy target. He's a breath of fresh air, and he's a good man, and he just wants our country to be strong, and upright, and prosperous.

I would like to thank you for writing your article on Glenn Beck. I think he should get maximum exposure, and more people should not only listen to him, but also take action in reclaiming this country, before it slips through the good citizens’ fingers. Stone, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you the best of luck, and a happy new year. May all your dreams come true!

Best regards,
M. Martin

Glenn Beck is the biggest overpaid dufus to be given airtime. Idiocracy for conservatives.

Glenn Beck is an idiot. He only claim to fame is his ability to spin the truth into something that is questionable. His support is the right wing boobs that are loosing everywhere else. One more time he is an idiot!

He is also a Morman (like Mr. Romney) and have you seen Romney trying to get his support. No because even Mr. Romney knows he is a loose nut!

Pperfect: If you knew anything at all about Glenn Beck instead of a knee-jerk reaction to him being a conservative and a Mormon, you would know that Romney is on his radio program frequently and has at times faced tough questions from Beck.

Glenn Beck USED to be a fun guy. HE IS WAY TOO SERIOUS ABOUT HIMSELF to be funny anymore. What a shame because he really WAS funny. Maybe he'll be funny once more, that is if he can just leave his religion home and off the radio.

Sorry, but I'm not Glenn Beck. But I wish I had his paycheck, that's for sure.

I agree with Ray. Glenn used to be a heck of a lot funnier before he was as big as he is now. 'Back in the day' when he was just on WFLA in Tampa, his show was side-splitting! As a matter of fact, he had a morning show and an afternoon show - 2 different time slots! The man is a work-a-holic. I found myself crying of laughter in those days. But then he slowly shifted the majority of his topics over to politics. Sigh.

Anyone remember when Rush (hisses and boos from the audiance at this point) first started - he didn't talk about politics and it was really entertaining, and light, and fun. It seems when you roll politics into anything, it makes for a lot more enemies.

Good banter on here. I'm glad I came back to check.

Best wishes to everyone.

Glenn is about Right and WrongJan 7th, 2008 - 13:35:34

Not Left or Right. He is one of the few Media personalities that care about not only his family & friends, but also his country. It's not always about the Liberal Left or Rightous Right. He may be a conservative, but will be the first one to go after someone who he believes is bad for America.

Here's wishing you a speedy recovery Glenn. God Bless

I don't think this is real. Remember. Glenn Beck told the story about watching baseball with his father that was a LIE. And he's had fake phone calls on his show. AND he does Mor-on trivia where he impersonates another host and misrepresented himself as from 'The Big Frog'.

This could be just another tear jerking stunt.

It is funny how childish people are just because they don't agree with his politics. Left wing nut jobs could at least shut up about their schadenfreude over this guy's pain. Grow up.

Until he went into the hospital, Glenn Beck couldn't give a rat's ass about health care and whether it was adequate or not. Welcome to the REAL world.

Glen Beck is rant is more telling than he knows and doesn't necessarily speak negatively on the hospital where he was treated. Having been an RN for 25 years, I can tell you that persons with substance abuse in their pasts are very difficult to care for post-surgery, as pain control is next to impossible for some of them. Abusing substances allows one to build up a tolerance in the body. This tolerance stays with a person and makes it very difficult. The fact that they gave him 'all kinds of stuff' is a testament to this. I am sure if there was a delay in him getting medication it was because some poor nurse had to get authorization to give him more than she had already given him. Think about it: You got this t.v. guy in your hospital...do you think they would just ignore him? Hallucinations, delusions and whatever else he claimed happened to him also speak to the amount of medication he was under the influence of. I am compassionate, but I don't think he should be using his celebrity to generalize all the care given at that hospital as 'bad', nor do I think this should be used to demean all of health care and healthcare workers-- the majority of whom go into this type of work to help people.
