Learn the truth about the hypocritical Ingrid Newkirk.

7 Things You Didn't Know About PETANov 19th, 2007 - 22:43:48

1) PETA president and co-founder Ingrid Newkirk has described her group’s overall goal as “total animal liberation.” This means no meat, no milk, no zoos, no circuses, no wool, no leather, no hunting, no fishing, and no pets (not even seeing-eye dogs). PETA is also against all medical research that requires the use of animals.

2) Despite its constant moralizing about the “unethical” treatment of animals by restaurant owners, grocers, farmers, scientists, anglers, and countless other Americans, PETA has killed over 14,400 dogs and cats at its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. During 2005, PETA put to death over 90 percent of the animals it collected from members of the public.

3) PETA has given tens of thousands of dollars to convicted arsonists and other violent criminals. This includes a 2001 donation of $1,500 to the North American Earth Liberation Front (ELF), an FBI-certified “domestic terrorist” group responsible for dozens of firebombs and death threats. During the 1990s, PETA paid $70,200 to an Animal Liberation Front (ALF) activist convicted of burning down a Michigan State University research laboratory. In his sentencing recommendation, a federal prosecutor implicated PETA president Ingrid Newkirk in that crime. And PETA vegetarian campaign coordinator Bruce Friedrich told an animal rights convention in 2001 that “blowing stuff up and smashing windows” is “a great way to bring about animal liberation.”

4) PETA activists regularly target children as young as six years old with anti-meat and anti-milk propaganda, often waiting outside their schools to intercept them as they walk to and from class-without notifying parents. One piece of kid-targeted PETA literature tells small children: “Your Mommy Kills Animals!” PETA brags that its messages reach over 2 million children every year, including thousands reached by e-mail without the permission of their parents. One PETA vice president told the Fox News Channel’s audience: “Our campaigns are always geared towards children, and they always will be.”

5) PETA has used a related organization, the PETA Foundation, to fund the misnamed Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), a deceptive animal rights group that promotes itself as an unbiased source of medical and nutritional information. PCRM's president also serves as president of the PETA Foundation.

6) PETA runs campaigns seemingly calculated to offend religious believers. One entire PETA website is devoted to the claim-despite ample evidence to the contrary-that Jesus Christ was a vegetarian. PETA holds protests at houses of worship, even suing one church that tried to protect its members from Sunday-morning harassment. Its billboards taunt Christians with the message that hogs “died for their sins.” PETA insists, contrary to centuries of rabbinical teaching, that the Jewish ritual of kosher slaughter shouldn't be allowed. And its infamous “Holocaust on Your Plate” campaign crassly compares the Jewish victims of Nazi genocide with farm animals.

7) PETA has repeatedly attacked research foundations like the March of Dimes, the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and the American Cancer Society, because they support animal-based research that might uncover cures for birth defects and life-threatening diseases. PETA president Ingrid Newkirk has said that “even if animal research resulted in a cure for AIDS, we would be against it.”

One of the most interesting tidbits of personal (and almost TOO much) information I got from watching that documentary: Apparently Ms. Newkirk is also against human reproduction, because she voluntarily underwent sterilization when she was in her twenties.

This woman is weird, to say the least.

Quote: ....had herself sterilized at the age of 22, as she determined then that “there was something wrong with wanting your own child,”
======================================================================= ==
What she failed to reveal while having herself spayed, was the frontal labotomy she received while at the Vet's clinic; a kind of, 'two for one'
deal.

Seriously, it should be noted that Ingrid Newkirk is an example of the mutant spawn of a bizarre reproductive act involving a female and one of her siblings or offspring that unfortunately survived the swim. The consequences of in-breeding.

She is truly certifiable.

Human freedoms should not encroach on animal freedoms. We are the reasoning animal after all. We have the power and the power of reason. So why inflict gratuitous pain simply because we can? In fact, I argue that humans, animal, and the environemnt are all an interconnected system. We as humans have exploited animals and polluted the system to such a gross degree. If we don't have groups like PETA challenging 'norms' eveyone would continue living in complacency. That's dangerous.

PETA is the epitome of hypocrisy, and Mrs. Newkirk is truly the lady of lies. Perhaps the most telling indicator of this is the fact that PETA's Senior Vice President MaryBeth Sweetland is an insulin-dependent diabetic, and the medicne that keeps her healthy is derived from animal by-products.

This is the same organization that believes humans have NO RIGHT to use animals for food, clothing, or for MEDICINE OF MEDICAL RESEARCH.

And let's not forget the thousands of pets killed each year by PETA employees who, at the same time, picket municipal kill shelters.

If you truly love animals, you CANNOT support PETA.

Alright, if you have to rely on the Pharmaceutical industry to whip up some dangerous replacement protein for you, there's something wrong with you.

There's something SERIOUSLY wrong with PETA, especially with saying it's all happy and friendly when it kills over 85% of the animals that it says 'Will rehome'.

If heaven is home for these dead animals, then I guess they succeeded.

Also, I'm ticked off that a terrorist organization such as this ISN'T PAYING TAXES, especially when they have about 25 MILLION dollars a year.

I would be more okay with it if they didn't go around destroying property and lying to the masses.

You may continue to criticise PETA. The fact is that humans are the greatest predators on earth - some more predatory than others.

That humans have trashed the planet's biodiversity through the farming of livestock says it all. Will they learn. No instead they increase their stock, depleting natural resources to feed beasts for slaughter when those resources could be used for grains to feed the starving.

That humans rip out cattle's ovaries, testicles, tails, and beaks and suspend cattle on hooks alive, not to mention the practice of drinking a freshly slaughtered animal's blood. This is sufficiently gruesome to realise that we are a gluttonous, self-destructing species and zoonotic diseases are now afflicting humans and you wonder why?

I applaud PETA and the work they are performing. If you feel they are extremist, then first judge yourself.

You will learn the hard way that animal cruelty is abominable. Enjoy your fat juicy steak and perhaps ponder how it got onto your plate.

I think all of PeTA's members should follow their leader and sterilize themselves. Then perhaps this reckless killing of perfectly adoptable animals will stop. BTW I'm thinking about starting a plant based organization to save the vegetables from unethical treatment. I will suggest that we raze or mow down all the farms across America to save the poor little veggies certain digestion... give me a frickin' break!!

How can you people live with yourselves? Cutting down vegetables at their prime, drinking a fresh juice from the carcass of an unsuspecting orange. Ripping the skin off a banana and devouring it's insides like a ravenous wolf does a deer? Come on!!! We need to get real, people are not going to stop eating meat, people are not going to stop owning pets. I agree with treating animals with respect, but peta just takes things way too far. I have entirely too much to say. Peta needs to stop. That's just the gist of it. Save the vegetables!!!
