"You Donkeys!" The normal noise heard in a kitchen of harsh television chef Gordon Ramsay; now the chef with the salty language has been given a prestigious award.

Ramsay was awarded two coveted Michelin stars for the restaurant he opened in New York last year, in the latest edition of the French guide due to appear Wednesday.

The New York guide, now on its third edition, has this year granted 42 restaurants star status but only three the ultimate three-star accolade.

Those three were French restaurants "Jean Georges" and "Le Bernardin" and American eatery "Per Se," which held the same top spots last year for their "exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey" in the guide's words.

Ramsay, who opened his first US restaurant "Gordon Ramsay at The London" last November, entered the list with two stars, adding to his three-star London flagship "Restaurant Gordon Ramsay."

The British chef found world-wide audiences with his television series, "Hell's Kitchen,"  "F-Word" and "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares."
