Lethargic Spears dismal VMA stage presence

Bad hair and perhaps a wee bit too soon for the stage bikini, Britney Spears dialed it in for her touted "comeback" performance at the MTV Video Music Awards tonight.
The "magic" of any dancers all gyrating around her threw off the obvious, that the energy she had was nowhere ready for any real tour.
Britney badly lip-synched her way through a three-minute show-opening performance of her new single "Gimme More," wearing a black bikini and sporting a really second-rate blond weave.
Camera pans to the audience caught 50 Cent looking like someone parked a week old trout under his nose, and P Diddy stroking his imaginary beard.
Britney couldn't even keep up the timing on the lip-synching, again with a phalanx of backup dancers obliterating the lack of moves or stage presence on Spears' part.
More camera pans showing an industry audience and fellow artists snickering and looking on in disbelief.
Rihanna was caught in hearty laughter at her table.
Criss Angel watched the Hillbilly Hindenburg he allegedly "helped" flame out while he was outside on the red carpet.
Allegedly MTV officials had warned Spears to keep it PG-13 for the live Las Vegas broadcast.
Sarah Silverman got Spears in her opening monologue, saying, "She is 25 years old, and she has already accomplished everything she is going to accomplish in life."
Silverman even got in a dig at Britney's kids, calling them "the cutest mistakes you've ever seen."

You know, generally I wouldn't comment on this type of garbage, but for some reason, I'm inclined to do so. This is clearly a human being who can no longer handle fame, and needs to understand that there are those around her who do not care about what is truly best for her. I'm not implying that she isn't ultimately responsible for her own actions, I just think the 'Fame Engine' can distort one's own decision making, and unfortunately, we saw the results last night. This girl is getting absolutely smoked by the media at what is probably a tired, awful time in her life. The Media likes to make news of this type of thing, which really shouldn't matter in the general scheme of things, and run her into the ground as much as they can, thus provoking a negative response from the subject, which leads to more news. Unfortunately, It doesn't seem that the media is going to let this particular subject go away. So, neither do the people around her who are lining their pockets with the money that she is generating, continuing to squeeze her very life away, telling her 'you are it, and you can't let it go', when she probably should. Those that truly love her, need to interfere, before this becomes truly tragic. I wish her well, not as a performer, but as a person. Live your life, but do it for yourself.
still reeling from Britney Spears' performance at the VMA's. From here she looked like she was in a daze, barely connecting with the other dancers or audience.
Her plain outfit looked two sizes too small and gave her a stuffed sausage look. When male dancers lifted her she seemed like dead weight. Did she bother to sing AT ALL? We never saw her lips move with the music. Even more embarrassing than her awkward dancing were the looks on the faces of celebrities in the audience. They could barely contain their shock and pity. We wonder if Criss Angel backed out at the last minute.
Sarah Silverman has decided that Britney has accomplished everything she is going to accomplish. Thank you, Sarah, for being the oracle through which all of us can use to get a good look into the future. Thank you for making a nasty, cruel comment about a troubled young woman who, as J. Maxx points out, is being taken advantage of and made money off of, and is really sadly unaware of what is going on in her own life.
I do not care about Britney Spears as a performer, but as a human being she has been crying out for help. All other celebrities, including Ms. Silverman, should think carefully about their acerbic comments about those who are suffering emotionally. It's easy to make jokes about those people, isn't it, Sarah? But soon enough, some misfortune will occur in your life, and then, in keeping with the vicious, cruel, sarcastic, name-calling nature of our nation, you'll be next.
And yes, let's give Britney's children a complex too by making jokes about them. Yeah, Sarah, you're brilliant. Any third-grader can make jokes about someone else. Why don't you show us something a TALENTED person can do?
Pathetic, cruel, pointless, and disturbing. Yeah, that's what Americans think is funny. Hope you're never the butt of the joke, Sarah.
I hate Britney as much as anyone else who's ever had to hear her voice, but this seems like an awfully cruel setup. Can we get some video of the dope crying as people laugh at her? Sheesh.
Sarah Silverman is a disgusting, perverted creep! Any poor, uneducated, mentally challanged person could do what she does and much better!

Did anyone honestly expect any more than this from her?
