So a talent meaning they can do it easily, you cannot. Yes Fator is a GREAT talent. So happy for him.

I actually followed this competition over the summer against my better judgment. Frankly, I am sick of talent competitions dominated (a) by singers (is no one else talented?)(b) by pre-pubescent girls who paint themselves up and scream out adult songs, or (c) alleged 'singers' who thing that groaning and moaning the syllable 'ahhhh' is singing. That is why I was pleasantly surprised that the ventriloquist/impressionist/singer actually won over the ubiquitous young ladies . I thought the 14 year old should have stayed home and if I wanted to listen to somebody (i.e. 'Butterscotch') spit on a microphone I could go to the local emergency room. The 1-2 finish of Fator and Cas was a breath of fresh air. I think either artist could have won.

'Snickering across the pond?'

Only by pretentious psuedo-intellectual snobs.
Strangely enough-- the same people who gave us Benny Hill!

why do all of so called talented Brits have to come to the U.S of A. to make it big. Its about time thier snobbery is kept across the pond. Let them have thier tea and crumpets. I'll stick with coffee and donuts.

Simply amazing. While it sounds pretty old fashioned and something from the 'Ed Sullivan' era, this guy is by far the most talented ventriloquist I have ever witnessed, including Candy Bergman's dad and wooden brother. You have to see him perform to really appreciate his talent.

Ps. The Brits should think about ventrioquism---they could perform and hide their gross teeth!

A puppet over Cas? Are you kidding me? Without the puppets Fator would be nothing. When he did most of the singing during one of his performances (while his devoted puppet looked on)the judges didn't like it and neither did anyone else. I am through watching this show - for real!

The brits should be familiar with dummies. They have all of those totally useless royals as puppets.

The best performer won, and I didn't think Cas's voice was anything other than ordinary. On a whole, this show didn't have outstanding talent - just a lot of side show types, and it was difficult to watch the Hoff without picturing the little video of his eating habits! And what qualifications do those judges have to begin with?

Terry is a great talent and deserved to win. I met this guy years ago and he was good then but man o man is he great now. My hats off to Terry and friends -- very refreshing

Terry Fator to me personifies the type of person who makes me proud to be an American. Let the Brits have the snooty remarks, but don't forget it was two of their own who voted Terry through the competition. Terry has diversified talent as an impersonator, ventriloquist, comedian and vocalist. I think his humble presence is very endearing. He entertains to any audience. His clean cut appearance and morally uplifting performances speak volumes for America's choice to return to old-fashioned values in entertainment. There is much to be learned from this competition. Good luck, Terry. Thank you for many weeks of entertainment. I hope that you will always be the person you are today. My best to Winston.

Fan of both Terry Fator and Paul PottsAug 23rd, 2007 - 04:33:01

I never thought of a ventriloquist as being capable of anything other than a slapstick comdey act. Terry Fator created an act that often touched the audience's hearts. While he is indeed a ventriloquist (and a heck of a lot better one than Edgar Bergen, who never really did anything other than talk for his dummies with his lips moving), he has created an entirely new and different way to use that talent. I am also a fan of Paul Potts, who won the British version of the show. Both of these performers are amazing, and I was very pleased when they won. I'm not a big opera fan, but I sure could appreciate this cell phone salesman's incredible talent.

I think if they had switched places, Potts could have won the American competition and Fator could have won the British.

I can not believe that we are arguing over who has more talent, Britan or America! My God people, we have it coming from both sides. The British gave us Julie Andrews, The Beatles, Rod Stewart, Michael Crawford, Paul Potts (who I am so glad won!), and many more besides. And America, come on, we gave you Elvis, Kelly Clarkson, and tons of other singers, etc. I think it comes down to a matter of taste. But yes, the Brits are snobbish. Get over yourselves. At least our president doesn't wear skirts!

I think it's pathetic that a ventriloquist could win instead of that beautiful little girl country singer with the big voice. I may not be a fan of country music, but that girl has true talent and potential. Does anybody remember her name? I only watched bits and pieces and never caught it. And tell me how that spitting little rapper chick made it further than the little girl country singer? Something's fishy here. The only one who could make a true living with her talent is the one that lost! No wonder I don't really pay attention when these kinds of shows are on.

While the 14-year-old country singer was good, she fell far short of the performance of last year's winner, Bianca Ryan, the 11 year old who left me slackjawed with amazement at her incredible voice and delivery. The country singer was a good runner up, but I think her popularity was based more on what people thought of her potential to become a polished professional in the future, than on her actual performance level now. Of course, videos of her, Terry Fator's, Paul Potts', and Bianca Ryan's performances are all easy to find with a quick search on YouTube. Incidentally, the British show had just as many cheesy, talentless tryouts as the American show and had BOTH Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan on the panel to chew them up and spit them out. It definitely wasn't all opera singers, ballet artists, and Shakespearian actors. There were plenty of rappers, tumblers, and animal acts-- just like there were on the American version.

Unfair. The contest had been already won by Dick Chaney, with George Bush sitting on his lap. Speak, George! Yap! Yap! Yap!
Runner-up: Tony Blair. Speak, Tony! Yap!Yap!Yap!
We have many other ventriloquist's puppets we can root for: Musharrif, for instance, and anyone from Israel, the Philippines, Mexico, and the 'leadership' of Iraq.
All of this nonsense becomes so quickly old, and we move on, and as we move on people continue to die, and we read about this nonsense and think it is the world.
We deserve ourselves.
