Kyra Sedgwick brings home the Bacon on 'The Closer'

Kevin Bacon - Kyra and family © Glenn Harris / PhotorazziMonday night's episode of "The Closer" (9 p.m. on TNT) will feature Kyra Sedgwick's Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson after a traumatic episode at the office. Directing this episode will be Bacon.Bacon directed Sedgwick in an episode of the show last season, as well as directing her in a tv movie "Losing Chase" and the 2005 feature "Loverboy." "I never would have said, when we were starting out, 'Oh, I can't wait to direct you,'" Bacon told the New York Daily News, "but it just so happens that the things I have directed have involved her ... and it's a fun opportunity to work together and not have to act together."Their long term marriage (19 years) has avoided the cliched pitfalls of a typical actor-actor relationship in Hollywood."Not that many scripts come up where we both feel like the part is good," Bacon told the Daily News.The two have mastered the art of give and take, and where to keep boundaries professionally so that neither feels encroached."I just try to stay out of her way," he tells the Daily News of his directing style. "She's the Closer."
