Dog’s life has always been extraordinary. From his wild outlaw-biker days to his rehabilitation in a Texas prison to his long journey to become the world’s greatest bounty hunter. This one-hour special promises to be one of the most compelling and moving hours of Dog The Bounty Hunter as Dog finally comes to make peace with his troubled past, including a trip to his father’s grave which reveals a side of Dog fans have never seen before.
Forty years ago, an angry and rebellious Duane “Dog” Chapman dropped out of school in the seventh grade never to return. Thirty years ago this summer, Dog began a five year sentence for his involvement in a murder. After serving nineteen months in a notorious Texas prison, Dog emerged a changed man – determined to turn his life around and to help others along the way.
Looking back on the moments that helped create the word’s most famous bounty hunter, A&E presents "A Man Called Dog", a one-hour special that travels through the past with Dog, his wife Beth and his posse, as the legendary bounty hunter makes a present day journey through his origins in Colorado and Texas to reunite with old friends and mentors to re-live significant moments from his past.
The special premieres Tuesday, August 14, at 9:00PM ET/PT.
Dog's new book "You Can Run But You Can't Hide" will be available starting August 7th.
News update : On February 16, 2007 the Mexican federal court denied Dog and his posse an injunction request and ruled that they should be extradited and stand trial for deprivation of liberty. The charge stems from the 2003 capture of the convicted serial rapist, Andrew Luster, in Puerto Vallarta. Learn more about the case and get the latest updates.

Rundown : Dog's time is running out in Colorado. After a month of helping his bail bondsmen friends around Denver, he's got to get his family back home to Hawaii. But Dog wants one more capture before they leave. Friend Bobby Brown has just the jump for him--Michael, a young man who seems to have traded in a once a bright future for the darker side of life. Michael has failed to appear in court for an assault charge. So with little to go on but the address of the fugitive's future father-in-laws, Dog tracks this target through the suburban landscape of Colorado Springs. After locating Michael's mother and gathering information from family and friends, Dog devises a trap to snare Michael. The problem is that he can't be there for it. But the long arm of the Dog will always get his man, and now it is Leland and Duane Lee's turn to stay behind and take care of the family's obligations.
