The View" ridiculed Al Sharpton's fatwa on the TMZ.com term Roboho for Beyonce's interesting BET awards outfit - with guest host Sherri Shepherd calling Sharpton "silly" for slamming TMZ -- and even Elisabeth Hasselbeck said that Al was hypocritcal because TMZ makes up names for all celebrities.

National Action Network President Al Sharpton blasted TMZ.com over the word "Roboho" in a fashion piece that was published two weeks ago:

"Calling any woman a "ho" is demeaning and abusive and it should not be tolerated on any level. It is intolerable to think that TMZ.com would find humor in calling Beyonce -- someone who symbolizes the strength, dignity and uplifting of Black women -- a 'Roboho,' and they should be denounced by the entire community for glorifying the continued oppression of women with this derogatory term."

Shepherd wasn't having it and laid into Sharpton, quipping she loves the word "ho" and said he was "silly" for criticizing TMZ's term "Roboho," over Beyonce's outfit, not the singer herself, on which TMZ was commenting.

Elisabeth confused produer Harvey Weinstein with TMZ managing editor Harvey Levin citing the recent "Poshtitute" for Victoria Beckham to back up her argument.

It's great Harvey Levin is standing his ground with Idiot Al; NOT begging his forgiveness. It's an unfortunate situation. Al and Jess could do good for 'their people,' instead they play the race card to further an agenda they don't understand. People will be so immune that valid concerns will be ignored. This is the perfect time to realize the importance of weighing information and forming an opinion instead of taking words from racist fools as gospel.

I AM AN AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALE, AND I DON'T LIKE WHAT AL SHARPTON HAS DONE, BECAUSE IF BEYONCE WOULD DRESS APPROPRIATELY INSTEAD OF WEARING THOSE PROM DRESSES, SHE WOULD NOT HAVE PEOPLE SAYING THINGS ABOUT HER, I DO NOT LIKE THIS CONFUSION THAT AL HAS CAUSED. IM PRETTY SURE THAT MATTHEW KNOWLES CALLED UP AL SHARPTON AFTER HEARING THIS. THEY DON'T SAY ANYTHING WHEN BEYONCE IS STEALING FROM OTHER ARTIST, SHE IS KNOWN AS A MUSIC AND PERFORMANCE THIEF, SHE STEALS SONGS, PERFORMANCES, AND CLOTHING STYLES FROM OTHER ARTIST, SO I AM WITH TMZ BECAUSE THEY NEVER CALLED BEYONCE A HO, THEY CALLED THAT TACKY, WANNABE KYLIE MONIGUE OUTFIT THAT SHE HAD OWN WHICH LOOKS LIKE TINA KNOWLES SOWED IT TOGETHER A 'ROBOHO'.

The felmale comments here just show the level of self hatred women have for one another. That you would tolerate and even defend when a man calls one of your own a deaming term. Who cares how she outfits herself? That is what rapists say to justify their violence. It's a sad day for women.

Somtimes silence is not golden, for too long African Americans have had to sit back and take whatever whites or others say about us, no matter how hurtful. Now we have the opportunity through Al Sharpton and others like him who are not interested in appeasing whites, to speak back or as they would say in the old days, ' To have the nerve to be uppity enouth to speak back to whites', it makes some whites uncomfortable that they can no longer just say what they want to say without criticism. Is he always right, of course not, knowone is, So what happens when we speak up is that our (Al's) thoughts and comments are then dismissed as though they have no merrit or validation. Well, they do have validation. What might be just sport or entertainment for some is the fuel to turning the clocks back for others. If you have never been victomized for just existing as god created you then, it probibly doesn't matter what someone calls you or says about you, but if you have been killed, denied opportunity, and victomized for being black, asian, hispanic, overweight, gay or anything else that someone wants to single you out for, than words aren't just words. I say this in irony, because people who say these things know exactly how powerful words are, 'Words' sell millions,in books and magazines, cause war and distruction and words also have the power to heal, lets stop playing games we know just how powerful words are, after all ' the bible is comprised of words'

Reverse discrimination? We didn't want to come here. Whites raped our women, killed us, made us second class citizens and reinforced that notion for 200+ years and now its reverse discrimination. I am positive that no white person would ever change being white to be black so easy on the reverse discrimination talk. When we have the opportunity to do exactly the same thing that was done to our ancestors for the same amount of time then we can talk about that.

Second, who cares what any white person thinks about black individuals in the forefront. They may be terrible, greedy, ignorant, opportunity grabbers, but they are ours. For any black person to put any stock in what someone who is not black says about our 'leaders' is an uncle tom. Stop putting so much validation in what these people think about you. They are not and have never been the end all be all. As my father used to say you are from whence you came. Thus, rape (its amazing how many light skinned people there are, it was love huh?) pillage, tar and feather, jim crow, racism and on and on and on.

hey,

you powerful White racists *created the race card* and do certainly continue to evolve it's effectiveness in any Times, so...I think this was a 'keen peep' on Sharpton's behalf, and...

May God continue to guide and strengthen him (& Jesse)in battle, vs. this Nation's culture of 'White Superiority' that throws the U.S. Constitution into total disrepute.

Mr Sharpton is the one who plays the race card over and over again, It dose not matter what situation It is It always boils down to race and that's sad. Who cares what color someone is If Mr Sharpton would mind his own business everyone would benefit from It.

Jesse is not JUST playing the race card.

There is something new going on with him: he is also leveraging the feminist card. Ever since the Imus called some black female athletes 'hos', Jesse has become a staunch supporter of women's rights to respect. As long as those women are black. As a woman, I'm a little tired of hearing guys get bent out of shape about this kind of thing.
