I'm one of those Americans who listened over and over again to Paul Potts belt out Nessun Dorma. Amanda likened Paul to a lump of coal that would turn into a diamond. To my mind, he's already a precious diamond that just needs to be polished and put on display.
What a joyful experience it was to listen to Paul. America must become acquainted with Cardiff's treasure.
Paul literally brought me to tears with his voice and humility. What an incredible talent and I know his self-confidence has risen to the fullest after all the accolades he has received. Good Luck Paul.....I am rooting for you!
What can i say, Paul Potts is already an absolute star in my mind, and I hope he finally sees that himself, and to all those people that made him the humble man he is today - IN YOUR FACE!!!!! I could go on all day about the way he make me feel just watching him, and it will be out of this world to see a smile on his face thats really a smile - COME ON PAUL, THE WORLD IS ALREADY BEHIND YOU, KEEP SMILING HANDSOME!!!
PAUL MAKES THE HAIRS ON THE BACK OF YOUR NECK STAND ON END.FANTASTIC HOPE YOU GET ON THE ROYAL VARIETY PERFORMANCE.GOOD LUCK PAUL
Paul Potts-if you read this by any remote chance, please know you affect many of us across the pond with your polite, humble and earnest desire to claim your real mission in life, with the talent you were blessed with.
I will pay to hear you sing if you come here!
Paul has been posting on our forum about mobile phone for a while now and told us that he was auditioning - I've got to say he has shocked us all with how good he is.
We are building up a list of posts from people who support him so if you would like to joing in please add your comments at the forum on OneCompare.com.
My friend found this on YouTube and gave it to me to hear. I was absolutely floored! It is unfortunate, that most people like Paul end up so afrain of the lime-light to even try, and some of the best singers are never realized.
Paul Potts, if you ever read this, you are an inspiration and you bring hope and stength to those like you, and I applaud you. Your talent is phenominal, and I did absolutely come to tears upon hearing this.
We're finally able to enjoy real talent, not an image or a name that Hoolywood shine in our face constantly.
God Bless you Paul, and I hope you go far with this!
Having grown up with Paul Potts, I have many stories that can be told. I am a little intrigued as to why he has considered his life to have started so badly with bullying at school. He has always had a good voice and he has proven this but I feel that the public are being spun an excellent PR exercise which shows Paul as a humble and trouble man, this will no doubt win the public sympathy vote, but surely he should win this competition on his singing merits alone.
For someone to consider singing the same song in the final as he did in the initial stage, seems to smack of someone who is lacking in confidence. Paul you need to extend out of your comfort zone and try a brand new song that will wow the judges and general public more, if you dont then I believe that your success will be marred by the fact that you have not truly unleashed the potential that people believe you have.
I am sitting here crying still, 30 minutes after hearing Paul Potts on GMA. I want a recording of that now. I want to hear him sing now. I am not sure just what happened here. I am an opera fanatic and have heard the legends in legendary settings and I have never had this kind of an emotional response-it is not because he is humble; not because it was unexpected; not because you know that you are seeing a true success story. Rather it is because when this man sang, I remembered the first time my mother sang to me and I remembered the language of angels.
Someone record him quickly-the world needs this voice
I wouldn't know a tenor from a taco and I have about as much interest in opera as I would having a wooden stake pounded in my eye but I have to say even though I don't have a single clue what he sang or what it was about, I'm not a stupid man and if someone's voice brings me to tears then I've just experienced something special.
It's very rare in television that people are caught unaware and are stunned by something they didnt' expect but this guy did something I've never seen happen before on any of these reality TV shows. I can't remember a time when someone so completely mezmerized an audience like that guy did and that wasn't even his intention.
It was so inspirational to see people in the audience that you knew had no knowledge of opera weep and applaud in appreciation of the sheer beauty that was presented to them. I really hope this man wins because it may be the only way he'll be able to share his talent with the world for a long time to come.
Greeting From America.
Paul Potts is inspiring and we love him because he represents “normal” folks like us.

Long live the Queen, Got bless America.

BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT VOTING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. General Voting Guidelines
Viewers can vote by phone or by SMS text (if SMS is specified in the programme as available) only.
Viewers can vote for which act (as indicated in the programme) they want to keep in the competition.
Each phone vote costs 50p from a BT landline. Calls from mobiles and other networks may be higher.
Each SMS text vote costs 50p and one standard network rate reply message.
10p per vote will be donated to the Registered charity, Entertainment Artistes' Benevolent Fund, which is promoted as 'The Royal Variety Charity' on air.
You may vote as many times as you like. You can dial these numbers from any area within the United Kingdom.
The total cost will be dependent on the voter's network operator. Please ask permission from the bill payer prior to voting and please dial carefully and sensibly. There will be no refunds for the cost of any vote made or for any misdialled calls or misspelt keywords.
Vote lines are opened and closed as specified on the “Britain's Got Talent” programme. Votes made or received outside of these specified times will not be counted but will still be charged. Voting times are liable to change and ITV may suspend, withdraw or re-set voting at its sole discretion at any time. ITV may in its sole discretion at any time change the rules for voting.
ITV and the producers of the programme reserve the right to discount votes if they have reasonable grounds to suspect that fraudulent voting has occurred.
ITV, the producers of the programme and their sub-contractors do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any vote being lost or not properly registered or recorded.
The result of the vote will be from all votes received by the producer of the programme into the studio at the time when the result is calculated, after the lines have closed. Please note that votes which have been sent but not yet received by the producer of the programme at the time when the result is calculated will not be counted but will still be charged, even if the voter has received an acknowledgment of sent message from its telephony provider.
If you are voting by SMS, you may opt out of receiving any marketing communications from ITV in any bounce-back message by adding the word NOINFO after the keyword as specified in the programme.
2. Guidelines for Voting by Telephone
To vote by phone, you may dial the premium rate telephone number, as displayed on the programme, and listen to a short message either thanking you for your vote, or stating that all voting is closed after the time for voting has ended. Please note that as with any popular voting show, there are always very high call volumes when the voting first opens.
Anyone having difficulties getting through to the voting lines should continue trying (within voting times only). BT has supplied the phone numbers for voting, but if voting volumes are high, voters using other UK network operators (for example, Cable & Wireless, Virgin Media, etc) may experience difficulties in voting.
3. Guidelines for Voting by SMS Text Messaging (if SMS is specified in the programme as available)
To vote by SMS text, you may send the keyword specified in the programme to the shortcode as displayed on the programme.
You will receive a bounce-back message either thanking you for your vote, or stating that all voting is closed after the time for voting has ended. If voting lines for that particular act are closed because they are no longer in the competition you will receive an error message.
4. QUERIES/COMPLAINTS
If you have a query about voting, you may register your query on the night with the ITV duty office who can be contacted by phone on 0870 600 6766 or by email at dutyoffice@itv.com. You will need to provide the following information:
1. Your Name
2. The telephone number of the phone you called on
3. The time(s) you called when you experienced problems
4. If possible, your telephone network operator, e.g. BT, Cable & Wireless
5. A contact telephone number if different from number 2 above
6. Please confirm the number you have been dialling.
Alternatively, you may send the above required information to itvihelp@itv.com and we will contact you as soon as possible.
Queries will be addressed as soon as possible after the show has broadcast.
I just finished watching the final of Britain's Got Talent... what a fantastic show!!
I was absolutely THRILLED to see Paul Potts win over some amazingly talented people. His voice is just superb, he truly sings from the heart, and wows the audience into silence! I am absolutely awed, amazed and proud to be living in Wales, when I hear this guy sing! I haven't felt goosebumps listening to a singer in a VERY long time!!
WAY TO GO PAUL... Huge congratulations from all your fans here in Blackwood, Gwent!! Wales is proud of you!
I was sobbing the first time I heard his audition, hours later even. I put on sirius opera and waited for the same sort of cathartic release and emotional reaction and it never came. I don't think it was his humility or sad story. I've closed my eyes and listened several times. This man has soul. I've never been a fan of opera but Paul Potts takes everything that is within and expresses it in song. What did he say, singing has always been my friend. Whether he is technically correct or pronouncing everything right doesn't really matter, it's not his story at least for me, its the feeling he brings out of people with his singing.
Hi from Lancashire, England. I listened in awe when Paul Potts sang on Britain's got talent. We most certainly have!! and it is personified by Paul Potts and X Factor winner Shayne Ward ( you can listen to him on you tube too. Check out Unchained Melody and Somewhere over the Rainbow ) I have listened to Paul's new CD 'One Chance' it is beautiful. One person commented that it shouldn't be No 1 in Britain as it is all cover versions. Course it is it's classical music!! They are all cover versions!
Go out and buy it it is worth the money. Good luck Paul. If Amanda Holden rreads this, I cry every time I listen to him sing especially Time to Say GGoodbye, which I hope we are not saying anytime soon to Paul
