The translation for the Miss Korea Interview was not accurate.
She said she wanted a superpower of making everyone happy. She wanted a power of being able to have a wallet that will be always full to do her missionary work.
That translator was truly a mess and did no good for Miss Korea.

Either Miss Venezuela or Korea should have one.
They deserve it and truly have great ambitions to better our world.

All Miss Japan wants to be is a dancer.

Only a dancer?! Well, I hope she becomes a stripper so I can see her dancin' on a couch in Tokyo. All that stuff about models saying they wanna save the earth and work with unfortunate kids is bull anyhow. Hot chicks are meant to dance and sing and be pretty for us to watch, let the ugly people save the world for their ugly children.

How are these demeaning competitions still going on? Who watches this nonsense and doesn't cringe at every moment?

Who cares?May 29th, 2007 - 11:13:58

This is meant for entertainment, not for setting standards. If you were truly concerned about demeaning someone you would not turn on the television at all. You cannot tune into any type of media these days without someone in the spotlight for lowering standards and making their gender look like less than what everyone should be. These women chose to be in this 'competition'...they are groomed, waxed, shaved, airbrushed, trimmed, exercised, and made-up to be a player in this game. Leave it at that.

They want to 'better our world', do they? And they think they can do that by entering a preen-and-pump contest owned by Donald Trump? The winner will have no impact on the bettering the world as a result of her win, and the losers will fade into obscurity. If they do any 'bettering', it won't have anything to do with this insipid event.

Agree.....May 29th, 2007 - 15:34:08

Right on, Bob James. Maybe these shows are 'fun' for little girls to watch, but that is about all they are worth. Women have come so far from these type of things, thank heaven. Most of the contestants have been sculpted and inhanced up to their eyebrows and don't in any way represent a regular woman with intelligence!

It is beyond me what the difference is between a competitions with men and the ones with women. I guess nobody wants to look at handsome guys and this is why we don't have anything famous about that. But then we have the puffed up idiots doing their muscle competitions.
Winning a competition is always fun and a great boost in selfesteem and quality of life, and being in one is fun too.
And all of you, I am sure, will be jumping up and down if someone comes says: you look so good we will fly you to Mexico City and give you chance to compete with 50 of the world's most beatiful people on equal footing. I will be down even if it is Mr Gay Universe for all I care.

Doubtful......May 29th, 2007 - 18:02:36

that anyone is approached to be in those so-called beauty contests. Most of these women/girls plan for years to enter. There are even programs to help them do it and to learn what is expected of them to be able to win. Maybe a few jump in at the last minute, but these contests have turned into just another big business for someone.

Miss Japan didn't deserve to win Miss Universe 2007. She is so thin, her face so ordinary, her English very poor and her gown looked like a bathrub!

The judges have very poor taste!

may be Miss Japan can take the first step towards 'bettering the world' by apologizing for her country's brutality all over Asia during WWII, something her country has refused to ackowledge even happened?

Then there would be no end to apologizing - like maybe the U.S. should apologize to the slaughter of native Indians, and the list could go on and on.
Does that make every modern person responsible for the errors of their ancestors?? I don't think so!!

Miss Japan is ordinary looking, I saw more beautiful Japanese womens. well they were shorter than her though..

And some people say that Miss Korea should have won if Asian crowned the Miss Universe.

But Miss Korea wants to spread Christianity.. Religion is kinda taboo in today's world where people are fighting for partly because of what they believe..

Besides Miss Korea is plastic surgeried. ttp://bbs.enjoykorea.jp/tbbs/read.php?board_id=teconomy&nid=2987365

So Miss Japan even if she has a ordinary look deserves to win.

so do you believe every website that says a person is made out of surgery?

I should have put a site about Miss UISA a product of plastic surgery and that would make it accurate?
