Maybe this is the time of big changes for Rosie. An alliance with Jenny Craig helped Kristy and should help Rosie find a self image she is more comfortable with . The role of loud mouth, greasy spoon waitress is not becoming on anyone, let alone a TV personality. Maybe this is the turning point of healthful change for her.
Thank goodness. O'Donnell's departure could not have come soon enough. I applaud spirited debate, but, she is nothing more than loud, abrasive and irritating.
Rosie O'Donnell is loud and at times, obnoxious, but at least she's funny, altruistsic and better informed than her co-host, Elizabeth Hasselback. Elizabeth is not too bright, boring and self-serving. When she skews facts it shows how uninformed she truly is. The wrong person is leaving the View.
I am truly sorry to see Rosie leave The View although I can understand how exhausting it must have been for her. Her viewpoint on most topics was one that needed to be said and discussed. Her thoughts were her own and were genuine. She was not coached as obviously Elizabeth was. People with passion always seem to make other people uncomfortable, but it has been people with passion who have made our democracy the ideal of the world. Thank you, Rosie, for your great gifts.
She is called an Irish-american. What constitutes a hyphenated-american? I like the standard to be 'a person born in another country who now can be said to reside in the U.S.' If this is not the case, then for how many generations must your family have resided here before one is considered just 'american'?
She could be right about some of the 911 conspiracy charges (I doubt it), but she hurts the credibility of more legitimate critics of American foreign policy. Her rantings are used as ammunition against true patriots who are against Bush's war.'

When Rosie said fire cannot melt steel, she was referring to jet aviation fuel burning at 1200 degrees not being able to melt steel with a melting point of 2800 degrees. She may be loud, but she does her homework, which is more than most citizens of this country around the events of 9/11.

This country is so full of shit. People say they want to see real people on TV and are sick of politicians and entertainers who have every word scripted for them and then when someone like Rosie comes along, everyone hates her, calls her a loud mouth, and makes fun of her.
Make up your mind people. Do you want to see woman who have had so much plastic surgery they are all starting to look like clones and who are so thin their bones stick out of their skin? Or do you want to see people who look like YOU or your mothers or your sisters?
Rosie is such a great person with a heart of gold.
I for one will truly miss her on the View. I hope she returns to TV soon.

As I sit here reading all these comments regarding Rosie I must say I am overwhelmed with saddness for the manner in which people speak about other people . I was never a huge fan of Rosie until she joined The View and I began to see what a truly compassionite , giving person she is . She is steadfast in her beliefs and that's to be commended . To attack Rosie because she is Gay just shows the true mentality of some people . What truley matters is that Rosie like many others is a wonderful caring mother , supportive spouse , caring co-worker , and a true friend to many. What happened on Wed was a true shame , however Rosie tried to stop the fighting but Elizabeth wouldn't let it go which shows me just how immature Elizabeth really is . Many times her on-air comments have left me amazed at how high strung and immature she is .
I really believe that The View will never be quite the same after this and will start a downward slide in the ratings. Rosie , you will be sadly missed and thank you for allowing me to get to know you better this past year through ' Your View ' God Bless you and keep you safe .

frankly, I don't blame her for wanting to leave. I have stopped watching it since I heard she would no longer be a part of the show because I am in no mood to watch a specific blond haired pregnant woman refuse to support someone she claims as friend. did anyone notice she refused to answer a yes or no? rosie put what most if not all of us are thinking; it's the government's fault we're over there losing our men and women. we've already learned that the 'fact' we were told that had us agreeing it was time to go over there to take care of business was not 'fact' at all. and yet we stay? yes, in that countryman's view, we probably do look like terrorists. we need to take care of the problems here first, before we go trampling over someone else's land and blowing things up.

I always have been a supporter of open debate, but the way some of the things that happened in EH and Rosie's discussion are now spun in these comments are ridiculous. Rosie said that EH wouldn't respond to 'yes or no' but if you youtube the clips, she clearly states 'No, I don't believe that you believe our troops are terrorists.' She did answer, she just wanted to give a complete answer and not an answer dictated by someone else. And as far as EH pushing the argument when Rosie wanted to drop it,...Rosie tried to make statements that were open for debate and wanting to be declared right without debate is simply ludicrous. The whole thing seemed to center on Rosie's insinuations about the troops and when EH offered her the opportunity to clarify that she didn't think the troops were terrorists, she didn't want to answer directly, but simply come back with,'do you think that I think the troops are terrorists? Yes or No?' She wouldn't actually clarify her position and answer or address the question, she simply did what so many who want to make statements without having them questioned do. She answered a question with a question. And just because EH is well spoken and knows how to phrase things intelligently doesn't mean she is coached, it just means she is smart enough to present things in a way that she believes is open and hopefully clear. Many actresses and actors have become politically outspoken and it makes them no more informed or smarter than you or I. Whether Rosie is there or not, they will definitely find someone left-leaning to fill the spot (not like their is a shortage of them in television) as it makes for volatile interaction and more thoroughly discussed subjects. Good luck to Rosie and to the View as it continues without her.

I was apprehensive when Rosie begin the View. She has come to the show with her own agenda. Homosexuality, which I could care less what hers or any one else's sexuality is. She was a pusher in getting that stand accross. I had always loved the View until Meridith and Starr left. Elizabeth is a joy and a very intelegent young woman who was forced daily to defend her view as an American. I believe everyone has a right to their opinion, but the show was a Rosie forum for politics, gay rights, etc. There are so many things going on in the world to discuss, so many guests to have on the show, with great ideas and viewpoints. I don't believe that attacking George Bush is something that viewers want to hear every day for one hour. We all have our opinions about the war, for or against. We all have our own beliefs about gay rights, but we also don't want to hear the daily fight and I do mean daily fight about those things. I want entertainment from an entertainment show, and it had gotten to the point where I was just changing the channel, because I watch the news for information about the war and the American economy. Not the View, not Regis and Kellie (whom Rosie also attacked), to me it was almost impossible to listen to the conversation, everyone was talking at once, loudly talking at once, very rude and not even giving the other person the opportunity to have a say without being interupted. Please, some manners. We need Star back, she is a bright intelligent and very up to date on matters entertainer, which is what the ladies on the view are. Goodbuy Rosie, there are reasons she is not on her own show any longer and McCalls (Rosie) magazine bit the dust. Please ABC, get someone exciting, someone who can entertain us without attacking us and those setting at the table with them. There are a lot of great women out there. I cannot believe that Barbara Walters has been so agreeable with Rosie and gone along with her destructive ways. Oh yea, one of the things that the View did do with Rosie there was give a lot of things to the audience, in studio and at home. Go home Rosie and raise your beautiful children and fight your battles from there. So Long.

Rosie is funny, bright and very well informed. The person who should be leaving the show is Elisabeth. Her views may be her own but she cannot back up or document or quote a single source during the 'debates.' Face it audience members, she just doesn't have what it takes to keep up intellectually, no matter what her 'views' are, with the rest of the crew. She is also much too emotional which is a common thread among individuals who cannot factually and intellectually back up their arguments.

I find it hard to believe that anybody really believes that 911 was a conspiracy and that the towers were brought down by our own goverment. A few kooks that give out so called facts are nothing but treasonus bufoons just like the people that believe them. If we are such terrorist here in the U.S. by all means go somewhere else. Who were the terrorist while Sadam was murdering his own countrymen by the ten thousands when we let him go after the first Gulf War? I hate that Rosie really believes this crap. I did not think that Rosie contributed anything to the View. Push comes to shove, get Starr Jones back. She is a hell of a lot better then Rosie, but that is not saying much. Anyone else to replace Rosie is going to be a God send. I will start watching the View again once she is off the show for good.
I think that Rosie is on to something and has no problem addressing hard topics which is admirable, but her weakness is not her outrageous demanor which is present in several talk show hosts. Her weakness is her tendency to 'not fully articulate' her issues. I'm thinking her brain is working far faster than her mouth can articulate so when she speaks the information comes out oversimplified and jarbled and people misinterpret it. She understands what she ment to say, but other people do not know what she meant to say and she gets frustrated with them misinterpreting her message. It also doesn't help that she get over emotional about the subject.
Remember, Rosie is a comedian, and comedians have to be on their game at all times which accounts for their sharp and witty remarks to keep the audience engaged. They're brains are going a 100 miles a minute. In a comedy setting, it's okay because the audience is merely there to absorb the humor, but you cannot use the same technique in a debate setting. If Rosie slows down and thinks before speaking, she can better articulate her thoughts with all the right information.
I won't be viewing The View any longer. Rosie speaks her mind and speaks truth. I'm sick to death of Elizabeth's willful ignorance over the realities of the war in Iraq and the deeds of the Bush administration and the Republicans. I don't know what 'truth' Elizabeth is reading/watching/listening to (oh, yes, Fox--LOL) but the vast amount of media I'm reading does not support anything she says.
Elizabeth contributes the least to the show. She'd be better off fawning over celeberties on some entertainment show. It's obvious she doesn't and never has lived in the 'real' world with the rest of us.

I can't stand Rosie and I would never choose to hang out with her. But I respect her.
Unlike most sheeple Americans, she still thinks for herself. She's looked at the purported 'facts' hearlded our treasonous criminocracy 'government', particularly those surrounding the so-called new pearl harbor (which Zibignew Brizinski calle for in his 1998 book calling for clash of civilization to bring about a New World Order--- The Grand Chess board) which was 911 and come to the only logical, reasoned conclusion--- that it was an inside job.
See there's the rub.... reason... logic... critical thinking... they're all but gone. No longer taught in our coopted 'World Governance' indoctrinating schools. Heck, the vast majority of sheeple Americans don't even know what those terms mean. Instead, they're emotional 'I-think'... 'I feel'... 'I believe' ignorant morons who (in the words of Clint Eastwood) cannot handle the truth. The pretty faced empty headed 'Elizebeth' epitomizes this growing defect in the fabric of our society. So the authoritarianism, the corporate fascism and the govenment sponsored crimes will continue and probably get worse over time. History teaches us thats what happens in a society in decline.

Everyone has a right to their own opinion, so does Rosie, and if you can't accept that, then you are very foolish. She has been attacked for her words; a right, and she has had enough of this foolishness, so she's leaving. Learn some respect, because if you don't respect others, they won't respect you. Learn to analyse the different opinions from people and to determine WHY they think that way....
There's enough evidence to link 9/11 to the an inside job from the government and THEN SOME. So if you're done being biased idiot, look into it and see WHY people believe these conspiracies. After, research and determine an answer for yourself... if you can't do that then you only showing your ignorance by making statements like: anyone who believes conspiracies is a traitor.
IF the government was actually a criminal organization, and very intelligent, isn't it possible that they could make people think that they're good and that Afg/Iraq/Iran is bad?
The View has been going straight to an apathetic hell in a handbasket since it started. TV shows like this push for democratic banter but ultimately help us pull the wool over our own eyes. If you want to be told what your opinion should be perhaps you also have a special 'Fox News' button on your TV remote.
My few cents on Rosie:
-The wrong person got booted off the View: It should have been Hasselback, who is immature and a mouth piece for the Republican party. Rosie engaged in a good debate by raising points that are often not discussed in the MSM.
-Michele Malkin is uglier than sin. She has a psychiatric disease that makes her dillusional to think that she is caucasian.
-Ann Coulter is actually a man.
-Bill O'reilly is an a-hole.
-All those on this forum who hate rosie o'donell are right wing nutjobs who pray each night for a chance to wash bill o'reillies test-tickles.
