Roseanne Barr to replace Rosie?

The news of Rosie O'Donnell's end of days on ABC's "The View" has insiders and fans alike guessing on who should claim the coveted spot with the coffee klatch. The New York Post muses Rosie's replacement on "The View" may be a choice between Roseanne Barr, Connie Chung, Whoopi Goldberg and Joan Rivers.With observers commenting that Rivers is too old, Chung too dry, and Goldberg too blue, Roseanne Barr has emerged as the top contender to replace Rosie O'Donnell next year on "The View," inside sources tell Page Six."She's a piece of work, she's a character, she says what's on her mind and she's funny," said a Page Six source."They're missing strong personalities on that show, and that's what they're going to need if they want to keep it going," an ABC staffer close to the situation told the Post.Many critics feel the show needs to find new talent with a fresh voice, to balance out the current crew and fill Ro's void.Names that are being bandied for a possible replacement: Chanteuse and personality Bette Midler, D-Listed Kathy Griffin and comic Monique Marvez, an upcoming Showtime "Latin Diva" (May 5) whose morning drive FM radio show is a smash hit in San Diego.O'Donnell said Wednesday that she's leaving "The View" after one year because she and ABC could not agree on a new deal.Insiders muse several guest hosts will be tried out to see the chemistry and reaction "View" fans will have to whoever replaces Rosie.

Wait a minute! Didn't you say Rosie was going to be replaced???
Roseanne Barr is NOT A REPLACEMENT! Those two are virtually one-in-the-same!!!
Give the viewers a break!! C'mon producers,---you've got more brains than that!
Give the viewers a replacement! Not a rehash of the same light brained, overfed, spoiled females.

I think Rosanne would bring the same spark as Rosie has. I'm sorry to see Rosie go and enjoy the view very much, but they MUST replace Rosie with someone who IS as opinionated and sort of loud, or else the show will be monotoneous again...
