Los Angeles public broadcast network KCET is joining with Warner Bros. Entertainment for a weekly primetime movie showcase to be hosted by Martin Sheen.

"The KCET Saturday Movie" will air weekly at 10 p.m. and feature unedited classic titles from Warners' classic library. Sheen will provide some historical perspective with only one interruption, reports Variety.
The announced schedule in Variety: Starting on May 5th with "East of Eden," followed by "Amadeus" - May 12, "The Grifters" - May 19, "Chariots of Fire" - May 26, "Blade Runner" - June 2, "Body Heat" -June 9, "Cool Hand Luke" -June 16, "Coma" -June 23, and "Superman" -June 30. KCET will also air "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," "Rebel Without a Cause," "Strangers on a Train" and "Bonnie and Clyde."
Variety reports that KCET president Al Jerome called the deal "a groundbreaking partnership" that will let the pubcaster "reinvent the television movie experience.
"These are some of the greatest movies ever made, rarely in theaters or on TV," he said. "This is a great opportunity to see them as they were meant to be originally shown."
KCET will create a website dedicated to the "Saturday Movie" franchise that would feature trivia and archival material related to the pics (trailers, lobby cards, etc), as well as an online store where DVDs of the pics can be purchased according to Variety.
