u guys must be kidding me! u actually think this is a singing competition? its so not... sanjaya makes ppl (angry starvers or crying 13 year olds) come back for more, he does wonders for ratings and frankly he is so dam interesting! i would vote for him (i cant cos im not american)as Ms.Ross said 'sanjaya iS love' and i agree, he is the most lovable, sincere person in the competition... do u honestly think ppl care about melindas fake 'im so suprised' looks? and lakisha's diamonds? no..sanjay is a big reason why ppl switch on to FOX! and i dont for a second think ppl are laughing at him..they are goind 'aww so cute' except for a few racist ones who expect and 'american' to win idol.... im rooting for blake and sanjaya....and i think sanjaya deserves those votes for his perseverance despite the stuff in the media... look at his last performance did u see how defiant he was ....ur heckling made him that way, ur comments about his siters breasts, his gutty hula dance and his hair made him that way..ur ruining a 17 year old's innocence...he is there for a reason..ppl are legitimately voting for him...so quit ur ranting and ur starving and vote for ur favourite and let us vote for ours.... jeez and i thought america was about democracy...no wait.... george bush is ur president im not a bit suprised....

For many years AI has tried to get musicians and record producers to take the contestants on AI seriously. This has failed with sanjaya the dork. At least last years contestant, Chicken Little could sing. With the onslought of Vote for the Worst and Howard Stern promoting sanjaya. They are a bunch of losers who if they lived up what they are professing, sanjaya would not be promoted as he is considered third for votes. So I think Haley or someone else should be getting their promotion now. Then again how can you take any of them seriously anyway. Thank heavens for the mute button reserved for sanjaya, Rosie from The View, and Howard Stern. Idiots.

I can not stand Sanjaya! Why are people voting for him and making him a big deal! Hes terrible! If he makes it threw, I will NEVER watch American Idol again! Something needs to happen with this kid! He is an embarrassment to the entertainment field! My question is what looneys are voting for him!? Get off the pipes people, open your ears and actually listen! Hes Baddddd, real baaad!

I have watched American Idol 6 from the start and have actually grown to like Sanjaya Malakar 's ever fun personality - even in the face of harsh and absurd criticism !

Ok yes, his Indianness has a lot to do with my voting, but that is not all ! I do think he is a much better entertainer than Lakisha, Phil or Melinda who belt fabulous tunes......which no teenager would download ! Would you?

I do like Blake, Haley and Jordin....great contemporary artists !

I have watched Simon when he judges.....he does not look at the contestant.....he judges the way a person sounds. Although many of the singers on this year's American Idol sound PERFECT.....like Lakisha and Melinda.....It is not perfection in singing that will sell records. I see myself tuning to another radio station if I hear Lakisha ......yes they are very good singers but they have NO PERSONALITY and are definitely not contemporary!

So while he may not be the strongest singer in the group, he’s got a little something-something going on.

According to Stuart Meyer, an artist and repertoire representative, of Sub Pop Records, 'being able to sing is not the only quality a pop star needs, he has a charm about him that is key to being a pop star. Some of the biggest pop stars like Madonna and Britney Spears aren't exactly the best singers,' Meyer said.


If you on the other hand don't like Sanjaya

Don't talk about him on your show - just to promote your own !
Don't make up false theories ! If you cannot back them up !
Get off your high horse and try belting a tune yourself !
Ask your kids - Who would they have on their iPods ? Daughtery or Clay Aiken ?
Run with the times !

None of these singers are 'talented'.

At best they could be performing in wedding bands. It's totally absurd that people take this show seriously and claim that this guy's continuing is 'ruining the show' or 'making it less serious'. It's not serious. It's a bunch of hacks being voted on by a bunch of people who know nothing about music.l

Get over yourselves. Your vote, your opinion and your thoughts on music do not matter. Do all of us a favor, go take a class in remedial music.

I am tired of sanjaya. i too am a teenager and unless they add a lot of enhancements to his voice he too like last seasons american idol album is going to flop!!!! i like lakeisha . she has a voice that persons of all age groups can appreciate. she is versatile and can sing anything. sanjaya is boring. his singing is FLAT and BORING.he has an ok voice.just Ok. to me he is just there.his performance doesnt stand out to me.when he is singing i stop watching. jordan is young also. but she too has a powerful voice. and a good stage performance.sanjaya unlike the other contestants dont even try to improve.it is unbearable at this point.no matter what kind of training or advice he recieves he continues to do the same thing and doesnt improve or at least make an effort to.
