Heather Mills has been attacked by US TV viewers after just one appearance on 'Dancing With The Stars'.

Heather had agreed to go on the TV show in a bid to win over the American public following her bitter split from Sir Paul McCartney.

But her efforts have already backfired as the show's website message-boards have been bombarded with scathing comments and insults.

One viewer, using the screen name Mytgr8, said: "She made a fool of herself in almost every shot on the show - immature and asinine. She obviously is going all out to get people to like her and it is backfiring big time."

Another, BR666, wrote: "If she was any type of class act, she wouldn't have tried to malign the name of a beloved cultural icon. She's scum and no amount of dancing will ever change that."

Viewers have not had the chance to vote off their least favourite contestant yet - the first eliminations are next week.

However, a campaign is underway to make Heather the first to be kicked off.

Heather tried to impress the judges by ending her dance routine with a high kick using her artificial leg.

Her efforts won mixed praise from the judges, though one watcher commented, "she looked as wooden as her leg".

Since splitting from Beatles legend Paul, the former model - who lost her leg in a motorbike accident - has received death threats.

It is sad that there are miserable little people in this world who seem to take joy in attacking other people. To start a movement to get Heather kicked off the show simply because they don't like her is simply wrong. Dancing with the Stars is a dance contest... not a popularity contest. Heather certainly was not the best dancer Monday night, but she definitely was not the worst. She deserves to remain on the show. I feel sorry for these pitiful little people.

BR666, wrote: 'If she was any type of class act, she wouldn't have tried to malign the name of a beloved cultural icon. She's scum and no amount of dancing will ever change that.'

Wait just a minute. Was BR666 living in the household of Heather Mills and Paul McCartney? I really don't think so. In that case, BR666 has NO IDEA WHATSOEVER what really happened between them. If Heather Mills' claims are true, then she in fact did nothing to malign the name of a 'beloved cultural icon', she simply cited her reasons to desire a divorce from him. It is the media that then took that and sensationalized it to the public.

If it is a lie, then we're all guilty of maligning one person or another because we ALL have done it at some point, even if we regretted it after and told ourselves we would never do it again. No one is perfect, even BR666.

And please try to remember that Paul McCartney is a person like any other. His being an exceptionally popular public image-- which tells you nothing of a person's true private character-- should in no way qualify him for treatment better than any other.

Gee, After Heather is voted off next week, who will be the next 'victim'
of these 'nothing better to do' people? It's a shame but, America is really starting to be looked down upon all over the world for the way we act. Let's not forget Sir Paul made all his wealth over here, yet, with all the major tradgedies we have had, not once do I remember hearing his name as giving something back to help out. Just my two cents.

The worst dance (Billie Ray Cyrus) should be the one voted off the show. As for Heather Mills, we didn't live in the same house with she and McCartney; who knows what went on.

I watched the show and I thought she did quite well. (certainly better than Billy Ray Cyrus!!)As far as the whole McCartney thing goes, Paul was really stupid and gets what he deserves. He probably won`t even miss a few million anyway.

You need to remember we weren't living with the precious Sir Paul, she was. I think she deserves to be where she is as far a Dancing with the Stars. She didn't do that bad for her first dance in my opinion and as far as her making faces at the camera (who cares!) She may be a goofy personality in real life, unless you know her personally you can't say she isn't. My god you people need to get over it already. Heather, good luck to ya girl!

Get a life, people! If you took all that so-called righteous anger and devoted it to a meaningful cause, like slowing down global warning or ending genocide or world hunger, think about how much better the world would be. Who cares, really, about whether you and your friends watch Dancing with the Stars? That's about the most useless protest I can think of.

We don't know a thing about what really went on between Paul and Heather. All we know for sure is:
1) Dancing with the Stars is a dance competition. Billy Ray Cyrus is a really bad dancer. He deserves to leave the show first.
2) Whatever kind of person Heather is, it takes a lot of guts to dance with an artificial leg.

Before I say anything about her lack of skill in dancing, I do suggest that she get a new hairdresser and make-up artist as her face is too narrow and her hair was not at all flattering. I won't comment about her hidious dress. I admire her partner for allowing himself, an obviously skilled dancer, to be held back by her obvious lack of talent. What is with trying to come off as British? Is not Ms. Mills is an American who married a British man and lived there for the few short years of their marriage - yet she speaks with a British accent. Oh well, so does Madonna.

This story is blown way out of proportion. So a bunch of nitwits have blasted her on the show's boards--they are in the minority. Everyone I have spoken to gives her credit for trying, even if they don't like her personally. I thought she did ok, given her limitations. To say that Aamerican TV viewers are against her is preposterous.

But whoever posted above that Paul has done nothing for America needs their head examined. It was Paul who organized and performed in benefit concerts in NYC after 9/11. He has also raised a lot of funds for the deceased firefighters families. He has been a friend to America, through and through, and it's made me love him even more.

I have loved Paul McCartney since I was 13 years old, and was quite skeptical about ABC's choice of Heather Mills and whether or not the intent was to inflame yet another scandal for the publicity for the show. But to wish someone to die of cancer?! To call someone a c***?! These are mere people who happen to be famous - to hate with such intensity without personally knowing them or all the facts is beyond MY comprehension...but for those of you who see nothing wrong without, perhaps you should look at it from the eyes of Paul McCartney's daughter by Ms. Mills, Beatrice. If you love Paul McCartney as much as you say you do, how could you attack his child's mother? If you don't like Heather Mills, just TiVo/DVR past her.

I find it interesting that fans of the person behind 'Silly Love Songs' and 'All You Need is Love' can be so hateful. What kind of person is Paul McCartney to inspire people to such hatred and evilness? He started the whole thing by checking out her rear end in an elevator. Could he not get someone his own age? He might be beloved to many, I think he's a jerk, and have done for sometime for being such a hypocrite--wearing leather shoes etc while protesting people eating meat. Get real. He's so cozy with Stella, I don't see why he doesn't marry her--I'm sure his beloved fans would turn a blind eye to that too.

If it was a show called 'look into their private lives and judge them accordingly' then sure, blast away. I don't watch this show not because of Heather, but because I see it as a vehicle driven by agents to get their 'past their prime' clients back out in the spotlight and generating buzz.

As for wishing cancer on anyone...shame. That just shows how incredibly infantile people can be. I have suffered from bad break ups, seen horrid things in my life and had my share of emotional boo boos but I would NEVER wish cancer on anyone! If Paul wants to be angry at her then he can, but last count he is probably older than most of you (and probably most of your parents as well) and thus being a big boy can fight his own battles.thankyouverymuch.

It truly is disgusting all the losers who seem to think old Paul is something special. He's just an old man who married a younger woman and then when she wasn't perfect, he threw her away. Sir Paul, indeed. Just another example of how the Brits sell titles to the highest bidders. For shame. Heather is to be commended for not sitting around whining about her loss and getting out there and doing something.

If she wants to win public support she should give up on getting half of Paul McCartney's money. In what other situation could a person say that he was (civilly, not criminally) wronged by another and is deserving of half the others money amounting to many millions of dollars. There is no possible moral justification for her thievery.

I was a resident of the U.K. when Heather and Paul were married in Ireland. On that day Heather's former husband took out a full-page ad in English newspapers relating the true Heather and what a big, big mistake Paul was making. At the time I thought it quite odd and rather cruel, but in hindsight, it was a revealing, and accurate account of what Sir Paul could expect from her. It was, as the Brits say, 'Spot On'. Read the ad and you be the judge.

Oh, let's not forget that our (pop) cultural icons are beyond reproach! Ms. Mills is obviously evil. She dared to speak ill of SIR PAUL!! So to heck with charity and deserving people, Heather Mills has ruined it for them.

Who knows what happened behind closed doors? Nobody but Heather and Paul. I'll tell you what I do know though, people have been too quick to declare the need for Feminism over. I believe much of this anger toward Heather is inspired by hatred toward women.

What tops this off is the fact that most (if not all) of these people commenting violently toward Ms. Mills (claiming she has lied about Paul) probably have nothing but praise for confirmed liars like The Scooter, Rove, Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Bush.

Sad.

They act like they know him personally and there is no way he could be an @ss behind closed doors. Pauls first wife Linda was a Kodak heiress. John Lennon's wife Yoko, Bank of Japan Family has upheld his legacy quite well. George's wife fought off a house invader bent on killing him. We don't know much about Ringo's married life. He was not an original Beatle; however, was part of what made the Beatles the Beatles. The thing of it is, we never got any continuous bad vibes from any of the Beatle Xs until now. And here we have Paul's soon to be X looking to make a career. What was she doing before he married her?

Heather is following right along with her legal representation. In a world where there is cleary a double standard, in reference to divorce, she is getting what she deserves. The system is so lop sided, that the % of women making false claims is recorded somewhere around 95%. If this confuses you, then go and sit in family court for a day and then come back and try to dispute this.

We need a law that if Paul is quilty of what Heather is accusing him of, then punish him. If she or anyone of her gender lies under oath in a court of law, they should be held accountible to criminal charges just like anyone else.

I agree wholeheartedly with 'What?'. People tend to believe what they want about celebrities, with little or no facts to support them. Just as in the real world, people should not assume themselves in a position to judge some celebrity's marriage, especially if the information them are basing their opinion on came from, say, People Magazine.
