'Big Pussy' won't be 'Dancing With the Stars'

One of the best characters that was ever whacked in the HBO series The Sopranos, star Vincent Pastore, Tony's pal Big Pussy, has left ABC's Dancing With the Stars.
USA Today reports after a week of training, Pastore dropped out, leaving producers scrambling to come up with a replacement before the reality show's premiere on March 19th.
"When I initially committed to joining Dancing With the Stars, I didn't realize just how physically demanding it would be for me. Unable to put forth my best effort, I felt it appropriate to step aside and give someone else the opportunity," Pastore said in a released press statement Wednesday.
Pastore shined as Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero who got in a pickle when the Feds pegged him to give up the goods on Tony's New Jersey mob family. Tony's intuition led to vivid dreams that revealed Pussy's betrayal.
The show hopes to name Pastore's replacement by week's end.
Says executive producer Conrad Green: "We appreciate him standing aside now rather than having to withdraw later. Dancing With the Stars is physically demanding, and it pays to know your limits."
