Hellboy - Sword of Storms is now on DVD and features Hellboy taking on two Japanese demons of Thunder and Lightning
Hellboy and his fellow agents defend the world from a wicked vampire’s resurrection in Hellboy: Blood and Iron – set to premiere on Saturday, March 17, at 7 p.m. (ET, PT) on Cartoon Network, during Toonami.
As a young demon, Hellboy was sent to Earth to wage war, but he was found by a group of men who raised him to be honorable and kind. Hellboy is now an agent for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (B.P.R.D.), the international organization that protects the world from occults and harmful supernatural forces.
In the second feature movie, Professor Broom discovers that someone in New York is attempting to bring back the evil female vampire, Erzsebet Ondrusko, whom the professor destroyed 60 years ago. Erzsebet was known to bathe in the blood of innocents to retain her youth. Professor Broom calls upon three of the top B.P.R.D. agents, Hellboy, Liz Sherman and Abe Sapien, to investigate.
Before long, they find themselves face-to-face with a horde of ghosts, a phantom wolf pack, witches, harpies, a giant werewolf and Erzsebet herself. Hellboy ends up battling the Queen of Witches, the goddess Hecate, who wants him to embrace his true destiny, a destiny that includes the destruction of mankind.
Several actors from the 2004 Guillermo del Toro-directed live-action Hellboy movie return to the animated world to lend their voices to Hellboy: Blood and Iron. Voice talent in the feature includes Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Selma Blair (Liz Sherman) and Doug Jones (Abe Sapien). The animated film also features the voice over talent of two-time Oscar- nominee John Hurt as Professor Broom.
Hellboy creator Mike Mignola co-wrote the movie’s story. Tad Stones and Victor Cook direct the movie. Guillermo del Toro and Mike Mignola are creative producers.
