Currently prepping "Australia" for Baz Luhrmann in his home country, Aussie movie star Hugh Jackman's wish to remake a popular British TV series has been given the green light in America, according to Variety.
Jackman will executive produce and appear in Viva Laughlin! when it debuts on TV later this year.
The program will be inspired by BBC series Viva Blackpool!
Jackman's American version will feature the trials of a small-time Nevada casino owner, who dreams of opening up "a snazzy resort" on the Las Vegas Strip.
Jackman will guest star in the pilot, which will be directed by "The Pursuit Of Happyness" director Gabriele Muccino.
