Older Talkback
Rosie is the one who is dysfunctional. I haven't watched the View since
she arrived on the scene and won't watch it until she is gone. If ratings
require a shock jock like Rosie and her sewer mouth then that is a sad
commentary on the viewing public and another fairly decent show will bite
the dust.
I AGREE WITH JULIANNA. ROSIE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE THE CLASS OF ROSEANNE BARR.
Star Jones must be laughing her a** off right about now. Talk about knowing when to bow out. She by far made the right decision to leave that show and exited right at the perfect moment. Talk about an 'I told you so'.
Rosie epitimizes all the qualities of good old down home 'trailer trash' and is representative of the 'under belly' of our culture.
For goodness sake, Rosie is a comedian. She only said what so many of us out here believe about people who cheat on their wives and ultimately, their families, and who continually trade in the old wife for a younger, newer model. There has never been any secret about Rosie's outspokeness; it is what we expect from her. Barbara, in all of her wisdom, had to be aware that Rosie is not some mealy-mouthed individual who would skirt an issue that had made the news. I am incensed with how vile the words were that Trump spewed. I am also incesed with Barbara's lack of loyalty.
I used to be an 'Apprentice' fan but decided that Donald Trump's ego and sense of entittlement and sexist logic was a bit much for me. First, he attacks Martha Stewart, then, Rosie. Seems he has a problem with powerful women. If he doesn't have money problems, why is he so sue happy? Donald should just stick to bullying the people whose paychecks he writes. New Yorkers I know are sick of hearing from and about him.
Rosie is a mess and should have never been allowed on the show. She is definately not an addition to the show. Since being on the show she has had not only Donald Trump call her on her comments, but she has also had Kelly Ripa call her in reference to her comments. I believed in free speech, however, Rosie has no right to comment on anything unless she has the full story or knows the whole situation. I think Rosie should end her stay at the view. Add a new talent and let it go from there. With Rosie, the ratings may be up now, only because people are hooked on the back and forth nonsense, but once this is all over the ratings will go down. I have sympathy for the other co-hosts because they have to endure all of this negative feedback from the audience.
Someone, anyone, please kill her!!!
I agree with Bette. I never really enjoyed the View before Rosie. I since have added TIVO to make sure I don't miss the show. Rosie is a good person. She means well and people seem to have problems with the fact that she may have a different opinion. She is passionate about so many topics. And most importantly she is funny. The show as well as life would be boring if everyone had the same view. I like all 4 ladies on the show. Kudos to Elizabeth, who politically we are opposite, but she argues her view with such intelligence. They are all different. I feel like I am having lunch with four girl friends. Regarding Donald Trump; first I like him, he is a character, and most importantly his children seem to love him. His critics would claim it is because of their mothers, but please he loves them and has made sure along with their mothers that they suceed. I admire that first and foremost. His public relations people must be having a difficult time sleeping. He has been cruel, which I think was unkind and unwise. How do you spin this odd behavior? It is odd, my son is in high school and his buddies think Donald is funny. That is the point I guess, it has become so high school,
The VIEW has become a vehicle to show case our times.
We cater to the lowest common denominator
We do what sells...
We work for ratings...
We back stab as necessary...
Barbara Walters did not get where she is by being nice. However she hides that other side rather well.
Rosie does not have too much 'class' but that is what the audience wants anyway...Jerry Springer and Maury Povich's shows are was beyond embarrassments.
Yet they are successful (I suppose)..
For me the biggest surprise was/is the 'stuff' coming out of The Donald's mouth. I haven't heard such stuff since I got into an argument with a 13 year old male friend...that was over 50 years ago...
What happened to morals, class, privacy....'as we sow so shall we reap'...the future is frightening!!!
And when will we have to stop hearing about it. Rosie is NOT a good addition to the VIEW and I didn't believe that she would be before she even appeared on the show. I don't watch it anymore either just like Julianna. The other women on the show exhibit alot more class than Rosie who enjoys being crude and pretty much white trash.
Thanks Donald for saying about Rosie what alot of people feel. She is lowbrow humor and comes across like a loudmouth drunk.
The Donald is a sorry excuse for a businessman - who in their right mind would deal with him. The next thing you know he will be stamping his feet or rolling on the ground in a fit of temper like the 2-year-old he has patterned himself after. What a true jerk!!!! Granted, Rosie is loudmouthed, but she is funny and has some very good points on a lot of subjects - namely the poor excuse of a president we have right now. A lot of people have made fun of the Donald - what struck a nerve right now? ~ the need for publicity for his rediculous show?????
>For goodness sake, Rosie is a comedian.
I object! Being a comedian requires being funny. Rosie stopped being funny in 1989. Now she's yesterday's news with a microphone.
I definitely agree with Jean Marie and Jeanmarie. Also, as far as Rosie not being funny ~ that is a matter of opinion. First and foremost she IS a comedian, and the View's viewers were way up before this latest 'Donald' thing.
Star Jones was a real turnoff in MY opinion and was so full of herself.
I agree with the comment that Rosie is a comedian and that is what she was doing; she has made the show more entertaining. Isn't that what we are looking for when we watch TV?
The way Rosie jumped on Walters is unforgiveable. She crossed the line. She has anger issues. She reminds me of the bully on the playground over 40 years ago.
I saw the way Rosie attacked Trump FIRST. It was funny, but I thought to myself that she's gone too far AGAIN. Her apologies on the show for all the other people she's upset have been shallow and patronizing.
I don't want to share my morning with this bully. The Price is Right or Regis and Kelly is a better choice now.
Solong to The View.
When has 'The View' ever been about views?
Now that Rosie has a view to share, it might actually be 'The View'.
Bye Rosie! Get on outa here!
There's nothing worse than an 'Angry-Dyke' with a public forum to vent vitriolic pith and venom. People grow tired of the 'oppression' and 'tough life' that Ro-Do has had to face since coming out of the kennel, I mean, closet. I'm not one for those forcing alternative life styles and viewpoints on others just because they feel marginalized. Tough luck. Deal with it. Take a look at Ellen D, does she vent and fume and pout like a constipated gay bulldog? Not at all. The sooner Fido-Ro-Do is out of the public sphere, THE BETTER!
