Jam Master Jay’s son TJ Mizell visits his late dad’s grave for the first time since his death 14 years ago on this week’s Growing Up Hip Hop.

TJ asks Angela Simmons, daughter of fellow Run D.M.C. legend Rev. Run, to join him on the emotional visit as he lays flowers at his father’s final resting place.

The DJ decides to make the tribute to his father’s grave in a conversation with Angela when he reveals he has not gone to the site since his dad was buried following his unsolved murder.

Jam Master Jay — real name Jason William Mizell — was shot by an unknown assailant while recording music at his studio in Queens, NYC, on October 30, 2002.

When Angela asks TJ why he hasn’t been, he says: “It’s weird to actually go to the place where his physical body is.”

He then reveals in an interview with producers: “The last time we were that close to his actual physical body was when he was being put into the ground.

“The actual feeling of being physically that close to his body is a little nerve-wracking.”

TJ then tells Angela that he finally feels ready and asks her if she will join him because she understands “what it means”.

The pair then make an emotional visit to Jam Master Jay’s grave, where TJ lays a bunch of yellow roses.

Growing Up Hip Hop airs Thursdays at 9/8c on WE tv.
