Sifting through all the 'Sesame Street' turns 40! coverage, it is glaringly clear that many if not most of the TV pundits have overlooked the superstar of the lot: Grover. I learned more from Grover than any of the Muppets.

I learned more from Grover than any of the Muppets.His schtick was priceless, borderline passive-agressive to downright smart-ass.I learned more from Grover than any of the Muppets.The big 4-0 saw Google festooning their welcome script with the Count and Big Bird feet, and even First Lady Michelle Obama did a stint marking the occasion. This premiere American kids show has taught many of us how to read, count, negotiate and even appreciate subversive humor all incorporated in great children’s viewing.The great old bits like the mad Painter above were later whitewashed out for more "diverse programming" and PC learning tools like Spanish lessons, but the king of the snarky puppets hands down was Grover, the blue terror that was a ball of frenetic rage and righteous fury. Dr. Grover taught me to ask lots of questions to anyone holding a clipboard and wanting to know about my health. Fast Food expert Grover served "O'Fish" and "O'Milk" with his O'Brien O'Burgers. His O'Fast Food segment had me howling as a kid and convinced me at an early age never to marry anyone with an O' before their last name.For posterity, the funniest Grover bit around:
