Lady GaGa rocks, Megan Joy squawks, and Spade ditches his gum; Idol results

The single mom from Utah who had her own Edie Brickell-ish Bohemian-style, and a fetching tattoo sleeve to boot was sent flying home last night.
The single mom from Utah who had her own Edie Brickell-ish Bohemian-style, and a fetching tattoo sleeve to boot was sent flying home last night.
The news was delivered by judge Simon Cowell, who could barely contain his disdain as he dismissed Megan Joy Corkrey to join the ranks of ex contestants for the FOX reality show American Idol.
"I'm not going to pretend that we're even going to contemplate saving you," bristled Simon Cowell.
Now post-show, we find out courtesy of Los Angeles' own weather siren Jillian Barberie on KTLA's Good Morning LA show that Ryan Seacrest was suffering from an intestinal flu and was on an IV prior to the broadcast. "If people only knew how sick he was," said Barberie, who shared her "goat girl" imitation as the morning team wondered what sort of bird Megan Joy was mimicking as she mugged onstage last night.
We also find out David Spade was busted putting his gum under the seat, captured on tape. He is in the upper right corner, behind Randy, have a gander:
But pretty isn't enough sometimes, you must have some personality, and unfortunately, Megan Joy was no Steve Wosniak in that department. She never endeared herself to anyone. Her arrogance was the big fat nail in her AI coffin with the judges, who began the series just loving her.
Wosniak aka "Woz" was the kindly charmer with two left feet on ABC reality show "Dancing with the Stars," whose affable nature probably kept him on the show for at least three episodes longer than he should have been. No one wanted him to go.
Megan Joy's spontaneous stage cawing and arm flapping was a bit much too.
The other two low vote bottom-three were soulful crooner, UNC graduate student Anoop Desai and teen rock queen Allison Iraheta. Why Allison was there is a mystery.
The best moment of the night for me was finally FINALLY seeing Lady GaGa perform. I have seen so many silly stories about her; I was not sure of what to make of her. An electric fiddle! Piano! Kick-ass choreography! That big-haired woman can sing, dance and is a proper musician to boot. Awesome job on the zippered eye makeup effect on her left eye too, as she nailed "Poker Face" for the crowd. Brilliant performance by her, and now I am a huge fan.
The show, however, was a lesson for anyone thinking of becoming a contestant in the future. If you anger Simon, you will pay for it.
Simon always has the last word. ''With the greatest respect,'' he said, ''when you said that you don't care, nor do we. So I'm not going pretend that we're contemplating saving you. So this is your swan song. Enjoy it.''

Why don't contestants ever learn??? They are fortunate to get where they are, then blow it bigtime with their mouths!! Plus they refuse to listen to the judges' advice about picking songs. Megan had all of these vices, plus the hideous tatoo on her arm was distracting. It looked like a birthmark, which most people would try their best to conceal. So many contestants grow an attitude.....they don't deserve to go on up the ladder!
Jones, you think it's fine for the 'adult' judges to be mean, petty and demeaning, yet the contestants aren't allowed to say anything? Simon said in a radio interview that last year was boring because the contestants didn't talk back enough and the producers were prodding them to do more backtalk this year.
And as far as Anoop goes, every week he's taken their criticism with a polite 'yes ma'am', and 'yes sir,' and then used that criticism to improve his performance the next week.
But their remarks this week were below the belt and insulting, implying he was treating things as a joke (which he obviously is not). I'd have been angry, too.
Others who talk back with no good reason walk a very thin line, but Anoop was justified in his irritation.
'Brilliant performance by her, and now I am a huge fan.'
Say what?...LOL.
Surely you jest!!
The panel of judges is just that - JUDGES. These contestants knew what they were getting into unless they've been living under a rock the last few years. If they don't like how the show is run, and it IS supposed to be entertainment, then they shouldn't have agreed to be on it. I think they all should be thanking their lucky stars for the media coverage, because if they have a good talent, even though they don't make it to #l, they have a good chance to go on with their music career as has been shown over and over with other contestants - have you heard of Daughtry??? Entertainment is a cut-throat business, and if these contestants can't handle the criticism and remarks of the judges on this show, they can't survive out in the real world........
And I happen to really like Anoop, and think he has good talent and charisma!
Lady Gaga was the best last night-in a rather dull episode-Gaga rocked the house!
Spade 'losing' his gum was priceless
Yeah, Spade's always good for a laugh - not!
i would buy an album of megan joys and the 16 year old rocker-both were fantastic-i would fall asleep listening to those guys.
kelly clarkson can be a bit arrogant and not lose the plot-just let megan join up with those swedish producers and you will see the hits come.you need good looks in this business.
so megan said she didnt care-but simon said he wanted some talkback-but its no reason to send her packing-she had an engaging arrogance-maybe her beauty worked against her.she was my favourite this season.
I find it really retarted how people keep saying Christina stole lady gaga's look. Take a look a Roisin Murphy and tell me lady gaga didn't steal her entire image. I mean Roisin Murphy should be credited for what gaga has stolen.
I can actually say that lady gaga saw what christina brought to the VMA's and embraced it even more after hearing the comparison between the two.
I mean, Lady Gaga's look before the X-tina incident was sooo Roisin Murphy like lose clothes and over the top outfits. Now, Gaga is like the Christina Vinyl fetish superwoman.
Lady Gaga has good music, but she need to stop stealing other people's image.
myspace dot com backslash jkreeper
Lady GaGa should be Lady Gag Gag - a screaming mess!
the 16year old girl wont have a chance,t thoought megan was slightly better than her, those two kept me interested in the show.
Megan Joy = irritating tatooed mormon wench. Fake 'style' - can't sing. Good Riddance.
Anoop = Arrogant little self-righteous daddy's little spoiled brat pussy-assed bitch. He's next to go. Good riddance uni-brow dude. R and B ARTIST ??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Gimme a freakin' break. More like Lame lounge lizard. Anoop-Dawg and Blind Scott will be fine goin' down on the cruise ship to hell.
Simon = Reality. If these pansy-assed babies can't handle Simon, they're sure as hell not gonna handle the big mean music biz. Remember - it's in his best interest for all of these talentless slime to make money selling records for Sony, since he gets a piece of EVERY SINGLE ONE - in the US and Globally. Dat's right kiddies... Simon Cowell is the VP of A and R at Sony who thought up this gold mine, and so far he's raked in a couple hundred million in personal income from the show.
And to the (no doubt) fat chick w/ gay guy friends who chased Anoop around at UNC or wherever... he's just not that into you. Lose the fantasy.
Sounds like someone is wasting a lot of time watching a show and contestants that he hates...........
What the he** was that with the bird walk?? She needs to be gone.
meagan reminded me of karen carpenter or joni mitchell-they just seem to favour the power singers she picked the wrong songs-she needed more emotional songs.such potential.
The public votes, the public didn't like her EOS!

I know you like to repeat what the not so clever judges say, but Anoop is not a frat boy and never was a frat boy. He's a freaking graduate student now, and during his undergrad days was never part of a fraternity.
That comment from Kara and Simon was a rather low dig at him, and it rightly ticked him off. I met him several times around UNC and he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
