Last night's result show for "Dancing with the Stars" contained a valuable life lesson, one worth sharing with your kids.
Steve Wozniak is really nice-makes it through another week.
Being nice, having manners and good positive cheer is real currency. Even if you fall short of the required skills for the task.
The two Steves of DWTS each have their own charisma. Steve-O is a recovering addict, and even on his worst days he was a cheerful buffoon, a good-natured screw up. He was the wild card of the "Jackass" franchise.
Now that he is earnestly trying to pull it together, people want him to succeed.
Steve Wozniak is a mogul. But unlike high falutin' rich executives, the Woz is happy to be just a geek and invited to the cool kids' party. Woz comes with the biggest smile of the lot. His kindness, good nature, nimble wit and classy decorum have made him a fan favorite, despite the fact the guy has two left feet. No one wants to see him go.
This is the power of endearment. Unfortunately, Denise Richards, who was a far better dancer than either two men, does not have that bonhomie. She was voted off despite turning in the better of the two dance-off performances, allowing Holly Madison one more week to get the cobwebs out of her hips.
The years of acrimonious divorce with queasy revealing details of her personal life put the nails in that coffin.
The show is tightening the screws, and next week will see two celebrities go.
The co-host of the show, Samantha, also wore the biggest pair of earrings I think I have ever seen on TV. They were like oversized dreamcatchers, or some sort of satellite-sized GPS things.
A cute segment was produced for the show with last season's delightful Cloris Leachman and her very animated dance partner Corky Ballas, as they "demonstrated" the Lindy Hop and the Tango.
The Tango is the the Quantum Physics of dance. You need a big brain and lots of focus to get that one done. Good luck Holly.
Kudos again to Department Head Makeup artist, Emmy winner Melanie Mills and her crew for making everyone look so darn good. For a behind-the-scenes angle on DWTS, check out Melanie's interview from late last season: LINK
Also of note was Hall and Oates performing "Maneater" with stunning pro dancer (and Woz's partner) Karina vamping it up with Maks, Tony, and Dmitry.
Daryl Hall had a bit of trouble singing in the microphone, but the dancing trumped the stage snafu. It was good to see them again, like the band "Journey" - their old hits have held up nicely.
What do you think of Denise leaving the show?
