It's a crying shame that once again, Hollywood takes a a very righteous thing like 1%-er motorcycle clubs and turns it into family hour nonsense. It's bad enough that anybody with a jacket these days is sewing some phony wannabe patch on their jacket and weakly attempting to emmulate a 1%er club member...then they cry when they have to back it up.

However, it doesn't help the situation when certain club members write those self serving books either. Never would have happen 20 years ago.

I understand the draw of citizens to this show. Citizens always look at the 1%er with fear or wonder. The fear is created by the media and law enforcement. Sons of Anarchy does not depict the true 1%er in America. Like all media, the show is only created to sell commercials and tickle the yuppie citizen with garbage.

Son of Anarchy is NOT A DOCUMENTARY.

So, citizens of America, when you watch Sons of Anarchy please realize that its about as real or accurate as any Godzilla movie. If this show was real or accurate about the true 1%er, the show would not sell commercials nor spark interest in any sector of society.

The actors are good, the show is action packed. The motorcycles are not close to the preferred Harley Davidson that the 1%er prefers and the Sons of Anarchy planet only exists in the minds of money making Hollywood executives.

Scott-
This s hardly 'family-hour' programming, and certainly NOT a documentary. It is a gritty yarn BASED in club culture...not a factual history of the Hell's Angels or any other 1% organization. It's just TV, good TV at that.

I've been riding since 1969 and I always find it amusing to read the comments of various bikers. Some of the self defined 'hardasses' think that they are the only ones who know what it really means to ride, they are the only badass, etc.

The fact is that old school bikers that have been across the U.S. usually remember that it is the rebellious individuality itself that defines bikers, not some single, rigid definition. Being a Texan who started riding long before it was popular and fairly well accepted by society at large, [especially in Texas where it could easily get you shot] I know that there are many similarities among clubs...there are also many differences. That's the main reason I'm amused by those who are so certain that SOA has it all wrong. If you're a real biker and aren't reminded of many memories, personalities, situations and philosophies when watching SOA then you haven't ridden with as many real bikers as you think you have.

Hit the highway and roll outside your little suburb and you're likely to see that while SOA is no documentary and is definitely TV, it is representative of the CONCEPTS and personalities on two wheels. Stop expecting TV to be an exact replica of someone you know. Read the message and stop over-analyzing the paper it's written on.

I don't see how some of these guys could even enjoy sex, since they seem to have the opinion that nobody but them knows what it's 'really about'.

Some of these posers should really shut the Hell up and ride further than Starbucks.
