Jason and Brooke have a loyal fan base, they will be saved again...it's Syesha's turn, can't stand her attitude, and she's gone from her black hair look to trying to appear that she is white (the straight hair). I would be even more thrilled if David A got voted off now, then David C's #1 spot would be much easier to grasp. If it is David vs David in the end, I will have nightmares waiting for the results......I will literally puke if that dorky kid with the obvious asthma and bad stage moves gets the prize!!!!!
with your logic, Brooke had very curly hair last night as opposed to when she wears it straight, was she trying to black up herself?
Hair is a woman's prerogative to wear how she wants, to imply she was trying to appear white is offensive. Her attitude shows confidence in herself and her ability to command a stage, I think you again confused mouthy Brooke with her, Brooke is the one with an attitude.
Having said all this, go David Cook, the true winner.
Syesha is trying to make herself white because of her straight hair??? Get real - that's such a low-class remark. She has a beautiful voice and would be great on Broadway. David A. will go along way with the right structure and advice, and David C. will win because he appeals to more of what an American Idol is trying to achieve, and he is really good - another Daughtry. Brooke and Jason should have gone long ago. Brooke is too mouthy and pouty and Jason doesn't have much of a voice
I just wish AI would pick more modern songwriters for the contestants to choose songs from.
Archulata butchered those songs and gave two crummy performances in a row.
He should go..stop powdering this kids bottom because he's sincere.
Jason Castro...didn't try hard enough...Brooke Made me cry and Syesha rocked the house in a Motown sort of way.
BUT Cook...was the best of the night. Both times.
Brooke is long past her prime on AI - she needs to go. She looks more like 34 than her supposed 24, and her constant pouting is a real turn off!
At best, with her weak voice, she could sing in a piano bar. She's definitely not AI material.
Brooke White has a nice voice and has a Carly Simon-ish quality to her style and I think she is more talented than any of them.
I am I said was beautiful...I wish she'd make an album and put that on it.
I did not like either song Dave Cook did but honestly he ran away with the night.
People got wise and voted Brooke off, and I can't believe her embarrassing crying fit on stage. It was disgusting!
huhh...? How would you feel if you got to the very edge of living out one of your dreams and you get sent home by a few votes.
The show should be JUDGED by the Judges not call ins from wherever.
People cheat And fix things and hack phone systems from the outside.
It's easy. I am a lynux guy I know how these things are done.
Well I think Brooke being voted off was over due. She's butchered every performance for the last several shows. Two weeks ago she tried to accompany herself on the piano and couldn't maintain a cogent timing, her voice is only good, but this is the top five. As for her crying stint at the end, someone said how would you feel? Well look at Kristy Cook who went out with style when it should have been Brooke gone that week giving the weakest performance of the night. Look at Carly Smithson who went out with style too. And so did Johns. If she can't handle a set back, how is she ever going to survive the entertainment business.
I take issue with comments about Syesha also. I didn't originally like her very much just seeing her as a Whitney Houston clone. But in the last couple weeks she's stepped up her game. She didn't just sing, she entertained which is what this is all about. I don't think she'll win but she certainly is heading for a great career on Broadway.
Jason needs to be the next to go. Poor song choice, lackluster performances. He's just getting by on his very annoying cutsie pie, puppy dog looks. He's not going to be here much longer I suspect.
David A. This kid has a great career ahead of him, but he's lacking something serious to win this. He can belt out modern love songs/ballads with the best of em, but he's completely lost when it comes to anything else. His rendition of 'Coming to America' was painful. It's a song about imigrants struggles and hopes to build a new life in a new land, and he made it sound like a 1980's sitcom theme. He really needs to start doing his homework and understanding the history and flavor of the songs he chooses, and then interpret them as an artist. When he gets some maturity he's going to be a major star.
Finally David Cook. I've heard him give a couple OK performances, but I have to admit, the reason I started watching Idol and have continued is because of him. He's brilliant. He doesn't just sing, he tells a story. I think it's very ironic that he got to do some Neil Diamond songs. David reminds me very much of a young Neil Diamond. His first song was good, but not that memorable, but 'All I'll Ever Need Is You' was moving. His best performace so far though had to be 'Always Be My Baby', what a home run. Billy Jeans was another one, but my favorite moment yet was when he did 'Music of the Night' and did it straight, and did justice to it. That showed me his diversity. And it also gave him the best one liner of the entire show. 'Everyone is always trying to figure out what I'm going to do next, so what could be more unexpected than singing it the way it was written.' This guy has superstar written all over him. If he loses this competition it will show that it's just a popularity contest, and frankly, I suspect it could spell the end of American Idol if that unlikely event happens. I'm going to predict though that this coming week it will be down to David C, David A and Syesha.
I pretty much would agree with everything you stated. As for people feeling sorry for Brooke's crying episode - it was a really childish way to behave and in front of millions! Like you said, others have gone out with dignity and class, and surely she didn't think she was going to be the top one or two. I also feel that Jason is just hanging on because of his looks and his 'little boy' act. The remaining three should have great careers ahead of them with the right guidance, and, of course, a little luck.
it's a popularity contest not a talent competition. David A should be gone not Brooke...she was and has IT. She IS the star and she WILL rise above the winner in a years time.
Well Brooke certainly has IT, whatever IT is. But IT surely isn't talent when it comes to Brooke. Loosing the beat when trying to accompany herself? Blowing lyrics? And that putrid yellow dress when she did George Harrisons Here Comes the Sun? She should have been booted for the dress and that song choice in the first place.
Obviously you're a fan, and fans only see what they want. But I'm finding it hard to believe that with all the singers they auditioned, Brooke made it into the top 20 in the first place. Frankly, Brooke will be lucky to get a gig as a lounge singer in Winnemucca, NV. More likely she'll end up a waitress in Tempe, AZ unless she becomes the mistress of a record company exec that constantly promises to give her a singing career.
David A just isn't that bad. I do agree with you that the Neil Diamond selections weren't good. But the truth is that three out of the five didn't do well on them. Really only Syesha and Cook had good performances that night. But David A is just young. He's got a lot of seasoning to do, but while I don't think he has a prayer of winning against Cook, he does have a great start at a career (which may not be such a good thing. Look at what careers that young have done to other entertainers).
And is it a popularity contest or a talent contest. Well in this case I really must agree with you. The public is fickle. Brooke proves that. Most people only know what they like. Sadly, for it to be a real talent contest, the judges would have to have some ability to weigh in officially on the results. Unfortunately, which of them is qualified to do that? Randy is the most qualified, but he has definite bias towards certain types of music. Paula is a dancer, what the heck is that all about? And Simon is the designated bad guy (although most of his criticisms are dead on mark) But as a fairly independent observer, I have to say that at this point David Cook is making all the rest look like rank amateurs.
Bias..and self centered opinionated observations there. Not very Diplomatic or objective at all.
I know about mistakes and screw ups during gigs and so on. Sinatra Bennett Jones Newton Guns and Roses Van Halen AC/DC I've been there and seen them all screw up. Everyone screws up. So what she forgot her lyrics. It's a talent show not the real deal..so she went again.
She does have a nice voice yes she can sing. She can perform Carly Simon ,Sheryl Crow ,Melissa Etheridge kind of stuff with ease.
No..she does not have a Mariah or Celine range...nowhere even close.
But she has talent. I am speaking as a non partial party here as a professional voicing my opinion. Not a fan. Don't ever presume to think you know it all it just makes you an ass.
But...she's gone. Moving right along...Castro is next. Hopefully we can get rid of that overzealous over the top Archuletta kid too.
I've been a professional musician too in my younger life. You're right, everyone screws up. But it's how you handle the screw ups that separate the mediocre from the great.
Don't like the kid huh? So I guess that means you think it's going to come down to between Syesha and Cook? I could live with that, but I don't think that's how American will play it out. Remember the old adage for 'talent shows'. 'Kids & Dogs my friend, Kids & Dogs'. If you're placing a bet with odds makers, I'd bet David against David. And it wouldn't surprise me if David A. wound up winning because of it.
we can count Castro out. Mr Tambourine man? I'd rather here clips from the Transformed man.
