I realize that this is an old article but I feel the record must be set straight. Rene Hoss Johnson was credited in this article for designing the Jeopardy! HD set.

Rene did not design this set or any Jeopardy! set to my knowledge. The Jeopardy production designer for the past twenty-two years has been Naomi Slodki.

Correct on Naomi Slodki on 'Jeopardy!'

However, the first set (1984-1991) was designed by Bob Rang (who I believe designed the set for 'Merv Griffin's Crosswords').

Ed Flesh designed the set used in the mid-90s (the best way I can describe it is a giant checkerboard), while Slodki designed the two afterward; the current and the one parodied on 'Saturday Night Live''s Celebrity Jeopardy sketches.
