Some people think working at sea is a man’s job — but Sig Hansen’s daughter Mandy is out to prove otherwise on tonight’s Deadliest Catch.

Sig gives her the controls of The Northwestern so she can try to haul her first string of Alaskan king crabs. But while he is confident in her abilities, the crew have their doubts.

Sighs of ‘Oh boy!’ ring out as they learn who’s in control, but they’re in for a big surprise.

Watch the sneak peak preview video below of tonight’s Deadliest Catch, as Mandy keeps her head and carries out the maneuver like a pro with Sig talking her through it. And then does it again all on her own.

The crew are caught off guard as they land two strings perfectly, despite Mandy showing her nerves.

One says: “Coming up on bags better than Sig!”

Also tonight, there’s high drama as Zack has to make a life-or-death decision as a rogue wave hits.

Sean Dwyer is also sent rolling by huge seas, who has also been revealed as a superstitious type, in the video below.

It shows him landing two huge pots, but just as he starts gloating about it he gets some instant karma — as a hydraulic hose bursts.

Deadliest Catch airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Discovery.
