Samantha Newly (Applegate) was involved in a hit-and-run. She wakes up in the hospital. She doesn't remember her parents, Regina (Jean Smart) and Howard (Kevin Dunn). Mom and Samantha haven't spoken in a long time.
Perhaps this is an opportunity to start over.
There is Dena (Melissa McCarthy), her best friend. Samantha kicked her to the curb to hang with Andrea (Jennifer Esposito), her boozy "bad girl" friend.
There is boyfriend Todd (Barry Watson). Todd's friends hate Samantha, because Samantha has been cheating on Todd.
