Smallscreen - Friday Night Lights
Football is everything in a small Texas town. The show, "Friday Night Lights" is all about that very fact, the town lives and breathes High School football.
Everyone is vested in the town’s football team. All attend the rallies, closing up their shops in order to attend the games, and hold full town parties for the team.
If you haven't been down South or to the Mid-West, this phenomenon is an amazing look at the reality for many in small town America.
A new coach, played by Kyle Chandler, has taken over the team and is immediately under enormous pressure to just win, baby. From the local media to the car dealership to teachers and staff, everything is about the game. There is a rabid obsession from the town with the team's performance, the new coach and potential greatness of the new quarterback, who is being scoped by college scouts.

So - is it gone for good?
Why is it that the networks get us involved in these shows and then cancel them? I am to the point I don't watch anything new because they break my heart by canceling it after one or two seasons. Like October Road, 6 degrees, Cashmiere Mafia, and Men in Trees. Am I the only one that doesn't like reality shows? After they kill ER and Boston Legal I might as well shut my tv off for good.
