Showtime's dramedy series, "Californication," stars David Duchovny who plays an unhinged novelist named Hank Moody, suffering a case of writer's block after his book is morphed into a cheesy Hollywood blockbuster.
Moody is walking id, saying whatever pops into his mind, who wants a do-over with his ex, Natasha McElhone and daughter Becca who have just about given up on him.
The show is sexy, profane and noir comedy at its finest, but laced with a heart and soul that Duchovny masterfully relays. A crack team of crew working behind the scenes makes the whole experience that more enjoyable to watch.
Stand out secondary characters include Marcy and Charlie Runkle, played by Pam Adlon and Evan Handler. Exceptional guest stars included Kathleen Turner (Sue Colini) and Rick Springfield as a hyper-intense version of himself.
