Sideshow wins bid for Spider-Man 3 collectibles

Sideshow Collectibles has acquired the rights to produce collectible products based on ‘Spider-Man 3,’ due in theaters May 4, 2007.

‘Spider-Man 3′, directed by Sam Raimi, is currently in post-production. The film reprises the Peter Parker role for new father, Tobey Maguire, and his long suffering love, Mary Jane, played by Kirsten Dunst.  Topher Grace will portray “Venom” and James Franco will return as Harry Osborn.  Noir siren Theresa Russell will play Mrs. Marko.

Sideshow will now apply its creative resources to the film characters in a deal that will produce several vivid, intricate recreations.  Their company has previously produced format statues, busts, and dioramas based on the popular Marvel Comics character.

Sideshow Collectibles’ Creative Director, Tom Gilliland, has also announced that Sideshow’s distribution arrangement with Medicom Toy Corporation will be expanded to include Spider-Man 3 licensed pieces, including 12-inch figures in Medicom Toy’s Real Action Hero series and vinyl collectible doll figures of several characters from the film.
