Sean Stewart claims his fame is to blame for arrest

Sean Stewart was arrested yesterday for allegedly throwing a brick at a couple, a few months back at a party that went sour.

Now TMZ.com reports the son of the legendary rocker believes that the couple suing him for the alleged early morning attack “are only after him because of who he is.”

According to Tolabus and Ericka Stein’s lawsuit, filed last month in Los Angeles Superior Court, the couple were leaving their Hollywood Hills home in their truck when Stewart and an unspecified number of his pals started “swinging their arms at, punching, throwing bricks and other items” at them, and also started striking the truck.

The Steins have accused Stewart of assault, battery and both intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress.¬†According to¬†court documents, they suffered “shock, horror, fright, worry, grief, shame, embarrassment, anger and chagrin,” for which they’re seeking unspecified damages.

Sean Stewart’s lawyer released a statement to TMZ:

“We have conducted an extensive investigation since these allegations were first raised. We have interviewed numerous witnesses who were at the party on the night of the incident. Our investigation has revealed that what occurred on the night of the incident is much different than what the complaining witness has alleged.

We will share our investigation with the prosecution at the appropriate time. Our investigation has shown that the alleged victim only named Sean Stewart as a suspect after hearing that Mr. Stewart was at the party that night and that the alleged victim had a financial motive to make these allegations against Mr. Stewart.

Our investigation has also revealed that any crimes which may have been committed that night, were in fact committed by the person who claims to be the victim.”

Stewart was in the recently canceled A&E’s “Sons of Hollywood”, which featured Stewart, Randy Spelling (son of Aaron), and their childhood friend, talent manager David Weintraub.
