UNESCO to consider nominations for intangible heritage lists

Jakarta - The UN educational and scientific body UNESCO was to consider 80 nominations for inclusion in its list of intangible cultural heritage at a meeting that started Tuesday.
The intergovernmental committee was to consider nominations including the Saman dance from Indonesia, Fado music from Portugal and Mexican mariachi music at the week-long meeting on the Indonesian resort island of Bali, UNESCO said.
The committee was also to consider 23 nominations for inclusion on the list of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent safeguarding.
