Final space shuttle to launch July 8
Jun 28, 2011, 19:23 GMT
Washington - The last-ever space shuttle flight is formally set for July 8, NASA officials said Tuesday after a review to make sure the craft was set to safely fly.
The shuttle Atlantis will lift off from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida at 11:26 am (1526 GMT), bringing its last load of necessary equipment and spare parts to the International Space Station during a 12-day mission.
The flight is the last for the ageing shuttle fleet after final trips earlier this year for two other shuttles, Discovery and Endeavour.
