Passage of any kind of legislation limiting carbon emmissions is unjustifiable and absurd. In this space, I could put forth a variety of points arguing that fossil fuel carbon emissions are and shall remain irrelevant with regard to global warming. I could challenge the proponents of this legislative madness to present some kind of record of the 'debate' on global warming which they declare is over, and which was never presented to the public. I could declare that our representatives in Washington are confused; that they mean well but don't understand the basic science that discredits fossil fuel generated CO2 as a significant player in greenhouse effect.

The trouble is, our representatives are NOT confused, and do not care about any real science or honest arguments on this issue. Those pushing for this legislation either KNOW they are defrauding their own constituents, or are too stupid to know or care; I'm not sure which is worse. The purpose, either way, is to steal vast amounts of cash from the public and direct it as they please. In short, they are interested in enhancing their own power.

Assuming you disagree with me and are on board with the Carbon Control Squad, just step back a minute and look at the measures that are being proposed in this legislation. Are they designed to reduce CO2 emmissions, or are they designed to generate tax revenue? Will the enactment of these measures most benefit the general public or just certain elements of it? Do they encourage the free citizenry of the USA to develop cleaner altenative energy sources or do they shackle us and crush private-sector industry in favor of Government-controlled (and hence, doomed to failure) programs?

This entire 'issue' (I notice they like to call it 'global warming' this summer, whereas they prefer 'climate change' when the winter is colder than normal) is a hoax set forth by our representatives ... OUR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES... who are far more concerned with their own personal career/wealth development than they are with you, me, America or the environment. There isn't a single good reason to put this scheme in place, and any congressperson that votes in favor of it (oh, by the way, there isn't time for our representatives to read this bill before voting on it either; it's too important..?!.. ) is a thief, a fool or both.
