I'm puzzled by this description - I understood the Shuttle glided throughout it's landing (that is, with no engine power)
So how did it 'roar' ? And the flames from the engines must just be residual heat from the re-entry ?

How is this all going to be affected with the funding for NASA being cut right now? Space exploration and NASA in general are fantastic and very important. If we don't put the money that's needed into the program now it could mean catastrophe tomorrow.

Overall I think it's an amazing thing to see a space station that is totally unbiased to state nationality, an internationally neutral place where the laws of science rule!
