New items found in Tut's tomb?? For 85 years, nobody has noticed these baskets and pots in the most famous tomb in the world? Nobody wanted to peek inside them? I've never been to the tomb but I thought it was cleared out long ago, and basically just the mummy is down there now for viewing by tourists.

It must be true... because it's so unbelievable that they even wouldn't bother trying to make it up!

SO... if Howard Carter discovered these long ago... and jsut left them there in the treasure room... how can they be RE-rediscovered? Were they /misplaced/overlooked/lost?

I can't believe the Egyptian government is so tight with thier restrictions, their rules and regulations (as proven in the 'Queen of Egypt' documentary) that they haven't allowed anyone, especially themselves to FULLY explore King Tut's tomb. Years have past and any thorough examination following their eccentric regulations could have been followed 100 times over. WHY hasn't the exploration been completed? What other findings are in that tomb or NEARBY? They seem to discover something new every 10-20 years. What a surprise with the way the conduct themselves with King Tut's tomb.
Let the major archaeologists explore the tomb and EVERY surrounding area of the valley of the kings! Let them be monitored by the Egyptian government, but LET it happen. For the sake of history, science and their own welfare from tourism. There is a LOT to be discovered, I have no doubt. The King's tomb was covered up from the making of other tombs, thus making it's discovery remarkable years later. Do you think there might be more discoveries that can be found? The ineptness of the Egyptian government implies an astounding YES!
