Just a caution on assessing ancient personages as 'gender-benders', gay, or other extreme social oddities: don't assume that we know their mores or sense of propriety. Just becasue Hatshepsut was portrayed with a beard and men's clothing doesn't mean she was a cross-dresser or lesbian.
