The EU will ban all Canadian seal products. That will take away at least one-third of your market. The other two-thirds will never make it to market in Norway, China and Russia because it has to go through European ports first, where Canadian seal products will be banned. If you can't ship it, you can't sell it anywhere in the world!
So, seal hunters, I look forward to seeing the look on your collective faces -- PRICELESS!!!
To Chris - the animal rights people HAVE offered to pay off the baby seal killers. But they refuse the money! They think it's 'fun' to bash baby seals and rip their fur off. They're mentally ill people and I for one didn't shed a tear when some of them were stopped for good by the incompetent Coast Guard tipping their boat over.
Yes other forms of animal cruelty abound. Factory farms are hideous. But does that excuse bashing baby seals? Of course not. Factory farms process food out of animals, the baby seal killers don't even use the bodies for food they're all thrown away! Bloody carcasses on the ice, or thrown in the water. It's the most revolting, useless, wasteful slaughter of animals on the planet.
I for one do not have any sympathy at all for those murderers that died! I'm just sorry that more of them haven't met the same fate! Any human being that has the ability to do what they do are mentally insane! I say that because when watching video of this barbaric slaughter, you can see that these guys seem to enjoy what they do. They have absolutely no heart, no pride and certainly no compassion. I've watched the videos where mother seals are watching, helpless to do anything to save her only baby while it's being beaten to death! Mothers watch as their babies lay in a pool of blood gasping for air and dying a slow and unimaginable painful death! This is what is referred to as 'humane'?! This vicious slaughter has to stop and it never should have been allowed to happen to begin with.
for all those comments praising the deaths of those sealers you should be ashamed of yourselves ye are very ignorant low life's. that karma thing ye were talking about 'what goes around comes around' well its your turn soon! and don't worry us seal hunters will have our turn laughing at your misfortunes.oh by the way i will be going to the front this year too!
Did you know that in Norway last year they burned 10,000 baby seal pelts from Canada because they couldn't sell them? This has to be the saddest thing in the world. Ten thousand seal pups were brutally killed by vicious Canadian sealers and their pelts were subsequently destroyed because there was no market for them. Whether you call it karma or divine retribution, there is a force at work in the universe which exacts eternal punishment for pure evil, and that is what sealers are, PURE EVIL!

My source says they were purchased from Canada. Wherever they came from, and my source says Canada, it shows that these seals were killed gratuitously -- there wasn't even a market for them and yet they were killed in vast numbers and suffered immeasurably, and for what? So they could be ultimately burned up? How cruel these men are who smash in the faces of seal pups and rip their very skin off their bodies while they live and breathe and cry for pity. I am sure there is a special place in Hell for all of you. Then, you will be the ones being dragged by meathooks, scalped and eviscerated.
Dexter,I wonder if anyone seen the Oct 2007 National Geogrphic magazine where they import about a million cows a year tie there four legs and cut ther throats in the middle of the streets with people watching for a ritual slaughter.where's all the animal rights groups to,I guess they know where to to stay away from, I guess theres not enough money to be made on animals thats not considered cute.I thought all animals had feelings but I guess I'm wrong.If it was a seal getting killed squirting blood on the ice it would be a different story.If animal groups can only think about saving cute animals and forget the rest shame on them.I don't want to sound hateful or heartless like some of the comments I've read nor do I wish harm to anyone but maybe the wrong four people died.

this is for elliott.first and formost you are not my friend.what do you really want to do.come to canada or not.first you don't then you do in you're letter.let set things right first hand.now i am from eastern canada and i am a fisherman.do i think all seals r clubed right yes about 99%of the time.the other 1%r killed withen a few short seconds.now i am a lobster fisherman.and do i think the stock is in danger not 1 bit.i am not saying kill all the seals that is why there is a quoto.you probley think paying off the sealers is a good idea.well think again.last fishing season.frome seals i hade 20 traps i hade to replace 106 bait bages gone.now add up the cost of traps; bait bages; bait;and no bait no lobsters.that adds up 2 a really good guss 4300$ i lost.if they pay the sealers they r going to have to the rest of the fisherman to.if they stop the hunt the population will get much higher.now youre job take 4300 to 4700 off youre income would you be happy with that.come out with me some time.2 see first hand and take youre camera with you.by times the seals r so thick i have 2 sail around them to get a bunch of traps off....
this is sick.i hope the person who did this gets the same sick treatment he brought to this poor creature.

to think that people would actually cheer for the tragic death of fellow human beings makes me think they would send people to their death for having different beliefs or racial backgrounds. Whether you agree with sealing or not, you have lost touch with reality to cheer about the anguish some families are dealing with right now. Not the sign of a well-balanced rational mind. so much for your enlightened intelligence. you claim to respect all forms of life, yet you say something so stupid. shame on you. I hope you never have to suffer what those families are. maybe if you did it would make you a more caring human being.

I get why they HAVE to do it..Like to feed families and stuff... I mean i you really really have to, breed them and then kill them humanly.. It may cost a lot extra but Im sure people will pay a little more for humanly killed seals then them just being out on the ice being clubbed to death..
I totually agree with the people who say this is inhuman...but how DARE you wish that men supporting their family DIE because of what they do for a living???I am totually agaist the seal killing for cheap fashion but you can NOT wish they died a slow death...we are all to used to our boring lives to really understand what they probably go through...and no i do not do this or anything like this for a living. I work in an office at a desk.
