Congratulations Sydney! Looks like you bagged nearly a 30% participation in turning off the lights! I can feel the earth cooling as I type this.
O wow...
Good on ya Aussies! Is that second photo a shot of Sydney or is it a shot of deep space taken by the Hubble telescope? It's so hard to tell.
So the future of energy conservation is to shut everything off?! Then to slow the amount of CO2 released in the atmosphere, we should all hold our breath.
And this proves what?
I think 30% is pretty good for a second annual awaerness event like this! Last year they estimates that Earth hour reduced pollutants into the atmospher equalt to waht 49,000 cars produce in one year. That pretty dramatic if you ask me. Imagine if this thing grows bigger and eventually we get 30% of the entire planet to participate!!!
In the grand sceme of things it's only an hour....right. Hell, I've sat on the toilet longer than that before. It goes to show you that collectively, we can make a difference. LIGHTS OUT.......
For the Republican types out there who 'know' that the whole global warming thing is a huge farce made up by Al Gore and others please disregard this message, as it is fake. This wab site is fake too....along with all of those photos above...just photo shopped fakes.
Dang! I need a spell checker up in here.....
Wait a minute, Are they paying for my electric bill?
I plan on turning on all my lights in my house while
I watch a movie on my big screen with the sound coming
from my surround sound system. I will be running the
dishwasher, washing machine and dryer at the same time.
Some day you will all find out that the global warming
scare is just a way for large corporations such as GE
(who Al Gore has close ties to.) To make more money from
suckers like you.

I just did the calculation, if you 30% keep this up for another 200 days (probably less due to this years excellent results) the rest of us can drive our cars all year without any carbon emissions. That's what call a carbon credit! I knew the Al Gore carbon credit model would come in handy one day!
However, you'd probably be better off turning the lights on and working on that spelling.
Let's see, turn off the lights for an hour so millions of people can light up petroleum based candles to replace the lights. Did anyone consider the carbon footprint of those millions of candles? Did Al pony up to the bar with some of his famous credits to cover this faux pas?
In figuring all the carbon that was saved in this brilliant gesture was the fact that 35% of Europe's electricity is produced by nuclear energy? You know, the kind that emits no carbon that the greens hate so much.
Last winter we went for five days without power after severe storms hit our area of Vancouver Island. Really made me appreciate the luxuries we take for granted - like hot water, or heat in the middle of December.
Earth Hour is a fantastic, powerful tool to let everyone feel they are part of the problem AND part of the solution to global climate change.
i think you could have turnd off a few more lights but non the less good job
