I can't believe how smart tonny from belgium is. All his posts offer so much enlightenment. Too bad we don't know more about wonderful tonny from belgium. The level of faith and belief in current events and drive by science of the day is inspiring. Sean,Fred, Jim, Peter,Pete, You guys are in a close second.
my question was for creationists - they're not (quite) all in america, but that doesn't make me a usa hater. However, I'm still waiting for an answer to my question
Well the creationists aren't answering because they don't read this stuff as much as one would like to think.
Besides the politics this telescope will be a great achievement. Good on them.
There are lots of unanswered questions, and this telescope will illuminate some answers.
Scientists are a pacifist lot for the most part; spending money on this telescope is a good idea. We know where all the money is being spent these days; it's kind of like an oil industry 'going out of business' sale. You know that peak oil is only 2-3 years away now.
America has enough intelligent people to offset the nonsense going on; I only hope it happens sooner rather than later.
And 'sports fan,' in discourse such as this, do try to think before you clap or boo. :/
This guy has got to be the worst anti-religion,anti-America,anti-anything except his narrow ,socialist, everyone needs to be just like me attitude.
He is so self absorbed there is no place for any original thought. Things are always the way he believes (even if he has zero knowledge of the subject matter) and no one else could possibly have more experience or a better slant on things.
Yes he is a waste of skin---a Assclown Extraordinaire
Tonny - you seem to have upset the dyed-in-the-wool un-thinking Yanks again - I find it stunning how they get so upset as soon as a few of their (many) faults and problems are pointed out. Then they go into a rant of one sort or another - how on earth does saying anything against america or religion automatically turn one into a socialist ? All such posts show is their very narrow minded understanding of the world
I find it stunning how everytime someone disagrees with one of your small-country small-minded liberal butt-buddies you have to come on and start calling people yanks.
Well Yank this..........
Thanks for proving my point with your extremely erudite comments.
What's your problem with Yank - its in the dictionary as 'an inhabitant of the United States' and it's how americans are known all around the World
We are looked down upon, Therefore we need a immigration bill to keep people out of here. The only reason we are looked down upon because we are fighting wars for your counties so you can worry about the global warming lie. On 16th December 1944 in what became known as 'The Battle of the Bulge' Hitler's regime attempted to reverse the tide of the war in the West. In a last ditch gamble, they attacked in an attempt to capture Antwerp by inflicting massive losses on the first U.S. Army. This attack hit my grandmother's home village and for a few days it looked like the joy of the liberation in September was about to be replaced by the imminent return of Hitler's jackbooted thugs. Fortunately for my mother and her countrymen, Hitler underestimated the capacity of the young American soldier to absorb, stop and defeat the German attack. 'Once more, young Americans made the supreme sacrifice on behalf of Belgium.'
Yawn
So you've got a hang up about the past. Get over it and move on
'Check your history ...' The problem with you yanks is that you always claim to be saving the world, implying that you do it out of public spirited largesse. But much of your intervention in various conflicts from world war 2 onwards has been at a price, so you are effectively acting as mercenaries - look back at Lend Lease or more recently the charges for both the Iraq invasions
Sad thing is you guys are not from outside the USA>
The ice age is coming!
'Sad thing you guys,.. etc' - What is this comment intended to say - it seems to be totally meaningless
Re:Sean, Not for you, you totally understand...Good Job!
OK thanks - no problem

This is a welcome quest that helps Science to advance
Presently Cosmology is undergoing Revision and Big-Bang,
Dark Matter,Dark Energy and Black-holes are all under question.
Evolution needs to catch up with creation.
Humanity will see the Light after the drags are removed.
In the mean time, all scientists should help save Earth planet
from pollution of Minds in conflicts due to Horse Nebulae.

Better get back on the medication before you go any more loopy
Is this Sean,Jim,Tonny? we dont know which personality we are dealing with, Lets get back to the Global warming bumper sticker.
..who happen to be the only one's capable of making this telescope happen...don't worry, we'll share.
As for the pseudo-liberals who have replaced religion with another religion called science, bully for you...
By the way, creationism and the big bang have one thing in common: Neither has ANY scientific basis in fact. 100% of the big bang theory is pure speculation. It may as well have been god who did it! Until some tangible scientific observation occurs, these two should be sleeping together. This is the 20th century's version of the Immaculate Conception.
Other scientific wank tosses: String Theory, C02 climate change, extraterrestrials...
SP4 - delusional as ever - 'the only ones capable of making it'.
If you removed your american blinkers for a while and actually read the article you would find it is a JOINT PROJECT project with Europe and others.
