Scarlett Johansson gets ‘Under the Skin’

Scarlett Johansson will star in FilmNation’s sci-fi drama “Under the Skin.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jonathan Glazer (“Sexy Beast”) is directing from a script he co-wrote with Walter Campbell, based on the novel by Michel Faber.

The film tells the tale of an alien (Johansson) disguised as a beautiful woman who preys on humans on remote roads and abandoned areas. She soon finds herself in conflict with her own species when she begins to reevaluate her thinking about humans.

Production is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2011.

Nick Wechsler and James Wilson are producing.

Johansson was last seen in this past summer’s “Iron Man 2.”
