Rule Britannia: Leona Lewis can out sing any diva

Amazing singer and winner of the nearly identical format of American Idol television show, the X-Factor, which airs in the UK, has introduced the latest best thing from England: Leona Lewis.

Lewis says she is still in shock after her “unbelievable” win this season on the hit British TV series, “X-Factor.”

The 21-year-old beauty, whose first musical single has sold more than 50,000 copies, told The Mail on Sunday her victory was a dream come true.

“I’m just shocked. It’s unbelievable,” she confessed. “I feel like my dream has come true, the dream I’ve been dreaming since a little girl has come true.”

“X-Factor” host Simon Cowell said that the “A Moment Like This” singer, who is now the first woman to ever win the ITV series, will spend some time in preparing her first album.

“Leona has an opportunity, I think, to become a major, major worldwide star. We’re not going to make an album quickly; we’re going to make the best possible album. It’s obviously in Leona’s interests to make an album she’s comfortable with and try and make everyone who voted for her proud that we’ve found a British girl who’s up there with the Mariahs and the Whitneys.”
