Rapper Nas and singer Kelis star in new MTV reality show

Rapper Nas and hip-hop singer Kelis are set to join the ranks of reality television stars with a new series scheduled to run on MTV. The series will focus on the two stars as they embark on their upcoming tours.

“This is a show featuring two people whose dynamics are entirely their own. He tends to be very quiet and she knows exactly what he needs when he needs it. While other shows have focused more on the domestic side, we are taking a much stronger view and catching up to them when their tour begins,” a spokesman for MTV commented.

The announcement of the new series (set to be titled Mr. and Mrs. Jones) comes on the heels of Kelis’ Miami arrest for reportedly interfereing in an undercover police operation and resisting arrest without violence.

Nas is getting ready to embark on a tour in support of his hit album ‘Hip-Hop is Dead.’ The 26-city tour, one of the biggest ever undertaken by Nas, opens March 31st at University of Pittsburgh, and ends May 3rd in San Francisco.
