Rapper Cassidy left in critical condition following car crash

Hip-hop rapper Cassidy suffered “multiple fractures of his face” and was placed in critical condition at Jersey City Medical Center in New Jersey when the sport utility vehicle he was riding in crashed into another vehicle in Jersey City on Oct. 5th.

Cassidy (whose real name is Barry Reese and is 24) was the passenger in the vehicle, and was the only person to receive serious injuries in the accident – although five people were transported to local hospitals. It is believed that Cassidy was on his way to a studio in New York to continue work on his upcoming album.

The Jersey Journal of Jersey City reported in Tuesday’s newspapers the rapper was in critical condition at Jersey City Medical Center. A hospital spokeswoman did not immediately return a call seeking information on his condition Tuesday.

Cassidy’s lawyer Simon Rosen has stated the rapper has a “nasty scar” that runs from his ear to the corner of his mouth, but that Cassidy is a “fighter” and will make it through the accident.
