Pixies to hit the road this summer, but future is uncertain

Alt-rock legends the Pixies have announced plans for a European tour scheduled for this summer. The Boston band will be playing seven shows this upcoming July, including a headlining spot at Spain’s Benicassim Festival July 21.

However, this new tour doesn’t mean the band is planning to head back into the studio anytime soon to record the highly anticipated follow-up to 1991’s Tromp Le Monde

“I’d only be interested if it happens in an organic manner,” said guitarist Joey Santiago to Billboard about a new album. “If all our schedules are aligned and we’re all feeling it. That’s the only reason to do it.”

Pixies will kick off the summer tour in Slovakia on July 14 before heading to Austria and Croatia.

Pixies European tour dates:

Trencin Pohoda (July 14)
St Polten Nuke (15)
Zagreb Salata (16)
Toulon Voix de Gaou (19)
Lisbon Atlantico (20)
Benicassim Festival (21)
